I don't think there will be only turbo version, higher chance there will be either 1.6 or 2.0 and without turbo version.
Best scenario of course 1.6 or 2.0 + 1.6 Turbo.

I am a bit worry on the active safety features for the elantra when it launch here. By looking at Taiwan Elantra that launched recently, not excitement but good thing they have diesel engine option but very low specs.

But then come to think about our weak currency, it's very hard to offer great package with great value, if 1.6 turbo sell at 130k, will you buy?

130k for 1.6T with full set active safety feature like Ioniq and HU with navigation, android auto and apple CarPlay? If yes, will consider. If 120k for all these, terus take my money.

they are launching the tucson with new engine now, elantra still have to wait... i think end april earliest..

looks is subjective to each individual.
to me, I will choose korean car because of the safety and other features provided and the build quality.

not so sure about the few cars that rosak here and there, I think those happen to CKD model.

So far my experience with 2 other korean cars, reliable and comfortable.
rosak yes, for CKD model, abs indicator rosak, door lock rosak, nth else (8 yrs car).
the other one SKD, almost 4 yrs, just a bit of knocking noise on dashboard and nth else.

what car can give that?

for 1.6T I doubt it will have, the most only BSM and RCTA. If you research on other countries model you should know.

android auto not sure but I think if they really learn from ioniq failure of the HU, they should provide a better HU.
it should have BSM and RCTA.

initial selling price is one thing, after sales service is another important point.
if reliability is there and spare parts are easy to find, service technician is knowledgeable and helpful, then ppl will have confident owning the car and when more ppl buying it then RV will increase.

right now in Malaysia, ppl still buy T & H, T is because of the after sales service which is the top according to J.D. Power 2016 Malaysia Customer Service Index (CSI) Study even though their car are quite kosong in terms of features, true or not owners to tell.

H I am not sure, heard a lot of complains about the service centre now but still sell like hot cake maybe due to RV that has been building for years.

trade in can get around 60k for 5 yrs car consider not bad lah.

but ppl here want RV and dowan local car, so the best they can choose is T & H loh.. even kosong, asal good RV ppl still buy.
