QUOTE(mat79 @ Jan 14 2014, 05:37 PM) their marketing is just terribad, period.most of their preve/suprima good marketing is on really low view count youtube links; MANY people DO NOT KNOW how good a preve/suprima s is and it is proton's job as a car maker to spread that awareness. else how would they SELL Their cars? there's a difference between good criticism and a bad one, i hope you know how to differentiate them |

QUOTE(davidke20 @ Jan 14 2014, 06:31 PM) quick summary of my experience- mom bought brand new iswara until now, so far so good. sure, lotsa break downs/bad experience, but its a car that's been carrying my mom/myself/my family/my friends everywhere, from penang to Singapore 14 years non stop. sure, the full/high end/premium spec way back then during 1999 for around 50k was a kick in the face considering the problems the car gave, but hey over 14 years, i think it more than paid itself. if anything, the experience of having a small plastic silver cup and knowing that my car is a little faster than your average cars does give me a sense of pride and satisfaction - fast forward to the proton inspira i just got 25 days ago... not problem free also. got this stupid whining sound whenever i speed over 160km/h: however other than that (and some minor dashboard and a-pillar rattles/noises), i love the car a LOT. so much it only took me 20 days to perform my first 1k km service, WITHOUT any long distance driving at all to be honest, what's to hate about proton? If anything, i'd hate our politicians/government/cronies that are pulling the strings behind Proton but that's an entirely different matter to discuss. =edit= oh ya, about 1-2 years back i vowed to never buy a proton again and are only looking at the likes of Honda Civic/Ford focus. many things happened (wanting a manual transmission being the most prominent) and i still ended up with a Proton This post has been edited by Quazacolt: Jan 15 2014, 03:16 AM |

QUOTE(TitanRev @ Jan 14 2014, 10:12 PM) I must say that it was the Japanese brochure that is the amazing ones. I need to ask my brother where all the brochures went and bring it to show u guys during TT. I also have the DVD brochure for the R35 being a huge fan of japanese culture (anime, mostly), i have to agree that Japan is probably one of the best countries when it comes to selling.so much that it sometimes disgusts me and the money i've poured to Japan's economy is quite huge. imagine a bluray box set costing between 1-1.5k for only 12 episodes of anime. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « and i don't have just one of those |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jan 15 2014, 03:14 AM) quick summary of my experience Standard Plotong reply(which is true cause there's nothing to fix):- mom bought brand new iswara until now, so far so good. sure, lotsa break downs/bad experience, but its a car that's been carrying my mom/myself/my family/my friends everywhere, from penang to Singapore 14 years non stop. sure, the full/high end/premium spec way back then during 1999 for around 50k was a kick in the face considering the problems the car gave, but hey over 14 years, i think it more than paid itself. if anything, the experience of having a small plastic silver cup and knowing that my car is a little faster than your average cars does give me a sense of pride and satisfaction - fast forward to the proton inspira i just got 25 days ago... not problem free also. got this stupid whining sound whenever i speed over 160km/h: however other than that (and some minor dashboard and a-pillar rattles/noises), i love the car a LOT. so much it only took me 20 days to perform my first 1k km service, WITHOUT any long distance driving at all to be honest, what's to hate about proton? Please blame Mitshi. ![]() ![]() Scientist say the universe is made up of Protons, Neutrons and Electrons. They forgot to mention Morons. QUOTE(davidke20 @ Jan 14 2014, 06:31 PM) I'm not saying who is right/wrong. The truth is, Plotong ady made a bad name since 1986. My father first Saga 1300 ady having overheat, melted the radiator within 1 month after purchase. Following by a long haul of aircond fan issue, power window failure issues none stop until car being sold. Ask me, we think that's just bad luck. Bought a lemon unit. So we did it again, another unit at 1989, this time radiator no melt. But the rear wheel bearing was broken prematurely, the whole wheel and brake hub was detached from the rear arm. My dad was still asking, "wah! whose tayar is that ar? Bunga still very deep wor" then only our car sunk. Nonetheless, the well know Powerwindow Rosak Oh Tidak Oh No, so as the later version came with alarm system, central lock system failure, alarm unit cigaoxin midnight sendiri trigger. It was just too awful to own a Plotong back then. We gave them 2nd chance, but they still manage to screw up so badly. get inspira la...Until we learn it, we spend alot less to purchase used Proton Saga when 1993 the all new Iswara came alive, old 12v Proton Saga price plunge down the drain. We start to get good deals. Buying a 1989 used Saga 1.5s only cost us about 18k back then! WOHOO! Not only we save up the cost of purchasing new car, but the previous owner already dump a huge sum amount i repairing the THEN NEW CAR. Alarm system is after market, power window unit was refurbished, replacement part direct import from Japan Lancer Fiore. Not only that! My house Saga is 1 of the few that has rear power window and Lancer door trim! We've been using that 2nd hand Saga happily ever after because the previous owner already done all the necessary repair to his NEW CAR until the roof start to bubble. Repair, again bubble. Even that we kept the car until 2012, sold the spare part separately for about 3.5k(still worth that much!). Who sei Plotong depreciate fast? Buying a new Plotong yes indeed butt hurt, but are you gonna sell it next year? I definitely not. I'll be the buyer. Buying a lightly used 2nd hand Plotong car is so much fun! Seriously dude, Plotong even rebadge also can screw up. I'm consider lucky for myself. I've obtained tremendous amount of maintenance knowledge in a bloody Plotong. I can change me own power window motor, so as centre lock actuator. I can do my engine overhaul, should I say thanks to Plotong rebadged Lancer Fiore? Again I shall reemphasize, I don't hate Plotong. If u know me well enough, I'm more of a Plotong fan boy, have been buying Plotong none stop until today, I still have 3 of them running around. My GaGa is 1 of the newest and well behaved car. The My next target? May be a used Preve? itu bagus |
