Anyone here hiked up Odaesan? I want to know whether the path is mainly rocks or they have made steps? Deciding whether to buy special hiking boots or just stick to sneakers.

If you change twice you pay twice for the exchange rate. Better just directly change to Won.

Midvalley ~ i buy from them 3.175.

My mother made a payment using RHB credit card in Korea ~ and come back check the statement the rate is only 3.1108.

Check my SC credit card the exchange rate is 3.2 something.. sad.gif

it depends the exchange you get from RM to USD. if high why take the hassle to change to USD. better change to Won. unless you can get better USD rate, then different case la.. btw, if you exchange USD to Won have better rate in Korea

Which money changer you change from in Mid Valley?

Now the rate is quite good. Last July I change RM 3.32 rclxub.gif

I thought all VISA card exchange rate is the same? Last time I use this website (http://usa.visa.com/personal/card-benefits/travel/exchange-rate-calculator.jsp) to calculate exchange rate, see which card got rebate/promotion then use which card icon_rolleyes.gif

By the way, I think VISA exchange rates are almost always better than the normal exchange rate hmm.gif

When are you coming to Korea?
Right now still not cold even to use hot packs but normally we buy hot packs from gmarket.
Like this.
Gmarket 핫펙

I don't use hot packs myself but I think most tourists come to Korea they feel very cold because the clothings are not suitable.

NEVER, I repeat, NEVER buy from Universal Travellers. Those are expensive and ugly and doesn't work well.

Uniqlo heat tech inner wear is very popular in Korea as well as their down jackets. They look nicer nowadays, last time when Uniqlo introduced their down jackets, they look like black rubbish plastic bags in Malaysia but people still wear them.

I will go end of Dec and doing countdown for new year there rclxm9.gif

Can tourist buy things from G-market?

This is how I plan to wear:
Heat Tech Shirt & Pants + Long Sleeve Shirt + Jeans + Down Jacket

Should be enough right? Going to buy one pair of heat tech only because not cheap and only wearing once

I'm planning to buy hot pack because I will be arranging quite a lot outdoor activities, just in case, we get too cold

Don't quite remember, but if not mistaken they are all selling almost the same rate at there.

Regards to the credit card payment at there, not sure why RHB exchange rate was so low.. i'm quite surprise when check the statement.

Went there last dec (Xmas period)...this is what I wear. Turtle neck/long sleeves heat tech for inner, 2nd layer fleece jacket & below knee down feather jacket, n scarf (thick one or wool)...Must wear beannie too that possible cover yr ear too and thick wool gloves. My down feather jacket was bought in Shanghai in a wholesale area but branded to d local ppl years ago & I tot it wouldnt be that good however it really kept me warm throughout the 10 days there even when I went to Ski resort....N yes if wear jeans is ok but u gotta have a long john or heat tech pants inside. However, if u go dong dae mun or nam dae mun u can get their stockings like leggings or baju for 10,000won with nano technology which can keep u warm

U can get a heat pad in many sizes n place them in your jacket pocket to keep u warm.

Hi, have a nice trip.
Do share your trip plan. Tq  rclxms.gif

Just got back from my trip last night. My detailed itinerary is in Excel actually, but for simplicity here you go:

23rd Oct 2014 (Day 1)
Flight to Busan via AirAsia, arrival 4.00 pm
Check in at Sam Won Jang Motel
Jagalchi Market
BIFF Square

24th Oct 2014 (Day 2)
Gamcheon Cultural Village
Taejongdae Resort
Gwangalli Beach & Gwangan Bridge

25th Oct 2014 (Day 3)
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple
Flight to Jeju via Jeju Air, arrival 6.00 pm
Loveland
Check in at Minjoonggak Guesthouse (hands-down the best guesthouse that I have ever been to!)

26th Oct 2014 (Day 4)
Mount Halla (ascending via Seongpanak, descending via Gwaneumsa)

27th Oct 2014 (Day 5)
Flight to Seoul, arrival 1.25 pm
Check in at Hostel Korea 5th
Ewha Womans' University
Changdeokgung Palace

28th Oct 2014 (Day 6)
Nami Island
Petite France
Gwangjang Market

29th Oct 2014 (Day 7)
Gyeongbokgung Palace
Ginseng chicken soup at Tosokchon
Bukchon Hanok Village
Myeongdong

30th Oct 2014 (Day 8)
KTX back to Busan
Flight back to KL, arrival 10.25 pm

Feel free to PM if you need any details on my itinerary. As I tried to cover as much as possible in one trip (Busan, Jeju Island and Seoul), I feel that there are still so many places that I have yet to cover so the next time I go I'll make it a point to allocate one whole week for Seoul!

Anybody who has come back from Korea lately can please report on the state of the autumn foliage? Are the leaves all brown and yellow by now?
*
The leaves have turned yellow and red at this point. Beautiful colours spotted in Nami Island.
