Hi, need some suggestions here. I will be going to Korea from 14th March until 23rd March. My flight will arrive in Busan and depart from Seoul.

I am thinking to spend 3D2N in Busan (is it sufficient?) and 3D2N in Seoul (been to most tourist spot. So not going to spend too much time in Seoul). I have also been the Jeju.

Question is, where else should I visit? Any suggestions?

sufficient unless u want to spend more days in Busan. since u been to most tourist spot in Seoul than u just go for foods and walk around la.. so many things can be do in Seoul city ler.. haha

Sigh...Can't believe Eastar special fare tickets are sold out that fast! Now it's only Jan 14. I really do hope that their promo are done in batches and there will be more special fare seats offered moving forward.

Seems like Jeju Air hasn't started with their promo yet as i read somewhere in v3/v4 that it's normally 4 months before travel date. For Jeju Air, are special fare tickets offered to members only? I tried to register as a member on their website but got stuck on country/nationality as the english site seems to be catered to HK residents only.

Really appreciate your guidance on Jeju budget tickets!  rclxms.gif

mostly we keep survey few months ahead cz eastar special fare really out very early. somemore not only tourists aiming on the list. korean themselves also aim. korean love to travel locally u know biggrin.gif

The owner says he's 7 mins from Seoul STation. I sure hope this is true tongue.gif
This is the link I found in AirBNB https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/3043026?s=bkTB
I'm going in October, just booked the ticket last month though. Haha.....
*
depends on which location you wanna stay. btw, local (Korean) estimate 7 mins than probably is around 10-15mins for M'sian standard tongue.gif cause Korean used to walking and walk very fast

from the link the apt look decent la.. but surrounding nothing much to explore. if you are first timer to Seoul i would suggest you live nearby places that can explore much (eg shopping, food, attractions)

alright. tq for a info. btw, which egg-wifi you rent/recommend ?
*
actually Korean wifi egg is good just depends on what brand and the price you willing to fork out tongue.gif

i'm using S Roaming. not bad. the cheapest among all but cons is they don't have much counter

KT Olleh & SK Telecom price is slightly pricier than S Roaming but for convenient wise they are better than S Roaming

Wow. I'm only planning to allocate RM2K max for my expenses there (not inclusive of return flight tickets from Malaysia and Jeju). Will be covering Busan, Jeju and Seoul for 8D7N. Not going to rent car in Jeju as my sole purpose there is to climb Mt. Halla.
*
huh? 8D7N and u plan to cover Seoul, Busan & Jeju? to be frank it would be kind of rush. unless u only touch & go or skip some of those attractions..

if RM2k u plan to cover transportation, accommodation, food n etc i would say definitely not enough unless u very budget like stay in dorm n eat 7e food

Will only be spending 3D2N in Jeju for the sole purpose of hiking Mt. Halla. For Busan and Seoul I have included most of the major attractions so hopefully I can cover. My accommodation so far is RM400. So that leaves me with RM1.6K for transportation, food and attractions (maybe some souvenirs). If that really isn't enough then maybe I should stretch a bit more to RM2.5K. I traveled HK and Japan with a budget of RM1.5K each to be frank. LOL
*
you are traveling solo and backpacking style? when is your travel date?

yup actually it all depends on personal preferences. as for me, i luv to explore n spent more on food, buying stuffs.. a little on a better accommodation so expenses will be higher tongue.gif

coming oct i will travel to seoul again plus add busan into my trip. well is my 3rd time to seoul hehe

I'm traveling with my boyfriend and two friends, but backpacking. Will be flying to Busan on the 23rd of October. Normally I spend on street food coz' I enjoy visiting markets to observe the local culture during traveling. Accommodation-wise I normally opt for guesthouses since I'd only be back at night to sleep before waking up early again the next day.
*
we go almost the same time.. i will be flying to Busan on 20th of Oct biggrin.gif btw, if you and your friends are afraid of cold, it's advisable to wear long john. body lotion and face moisturizer is a must as korea autumn is quite harsh.

My suggestion is at least a down jacket coupled with tight, breathable underwear (long john of some sort). The heattech lines from Uniqlo are quite alright. hmm.gif
*
no need down jacket la.. unless go during the month of November. but if you are those who scare of cold then no choice... cz others might look at you and thought you are from China (if you are Chinese) whistling.gif

wear few layer of clothes with long john and top with wind breaker

Going for 14 days this end of Oct. My rough itinerary so far, solo+free&easy so it will be very flexible. Have yet to confirm any accommodation so that will affect the itinerary as well.

Still wondering if I should slot in Seoraksan in the middle of my Seoul part of the trip, then get KTX to Busan. Or to follow this schedule and get on an overnight bus.

Day 2 & Day 4 you go the same place again? Bukchon Hanok Village?
for Banpo Bridge, before you go, it's better to check their schedule else you might end up disappointed
i feel you spend so much time on Day 6 & Day 7 on the specific area while Day 9 cram all area into 1 day sweat.gif

But now still not very sure about the itinerary.. Just fix Jeju 3 days 2 nights..

First day Incheon -> Seoul
Second day Seoul -> Jeju -> Seogwipo
Third day Jeju
Fourth day Jeju -> Seoul

We plan for one day for shopping around.. Half day for one palace, half day for namiseom island.. Seoul Tower in the evening..
Will take some body lotion and face moisturizer..
Btw, buy in korea or bring it over??  sweat.gif
*
from your itinerary u seems only go 4 days?

depends on yourself whether you wanna bring it over or buy from there cause some people only use certain brands

Actually 9 days 8 nights..
My mum is going, that is why itinerary dun wan to be too pack and too adventurous..  blush.gif

Itinerary plan is actually up to my bro to decide..

We actually didnt know what activities/attractions can do and visit for 9 days/8nights..

Basically just between Seoul and Jeju only..
*
ic. for both Seoul & Jeju (9D/8N) if you don't wanna cram many places in your trip then definitely enough.. (manage to visit main attractions)

as for me, no matter how many times i been to korea, also not enough tongue.gif

I mean, food is expensive, transportation, etc,
and theres basically nothing much of historical or interesting site to visit.
korea is only known for the beauty ok kpop, or perhaps the snow or winter sonata.
*
different people have different preferences. imho the food and transportation is reasonable for their standard of living.

QUOTE(AIAF @ Sep 10 2014, 04:04 AM)
Oops, error in copy and pasting. Thanks for pointing that out!

Will check on the schedule  hmm.gif

As I'm going free and easy, Day 6 and 7 was just a buffer. Plans might change due to any conditions and if I'm lucky enough to make new friends and get their recommendations haha.
Did a bit more homework and this is my almost completed rough itinerary for 14 days! Decided to stop by Gwangju instead.

tips: Hongdae during weekend will got Free Market. so if you would like to visit, u may re-plan

Day 4, Tongin market is located near Gyeongbokgung Station. so i suggest it would be better if u go to Gwanghwamun Square (stop at Gwanghwamun St), Gyeongbokgung, Tongin Market & the last is Cheong Wa Dae. do you have any planning to join the Cheong Wa Dae tour? you are not allow to enter without prior reservation

Day 12, personally feel quite rush.

Thanks for the tips on Hongdae and Tongin! Will consider. For now I think I'll just check out Cheong Wa Dae on my own, look see look see.

If I got free time on Day 11, 13, or 14 will slot some Day 12 activities in.  tongue.gif
Good news below! Seems like all clear in Busan.
Surprised to hear that it's hot, thought summer might have cooled down a bit by now.
*
you can't go in Cheong Wa Dae without register the guided tour online. they limit the number of visitors to go in. you need to choose the slot earlier as well cause it will fully book (3 weeks in advance). even with tour, they limit you to enter certain area only. if you don't want to reserve, you can only walk pass and see the building from outside. you wouldn't dare to stay longer around that area because security is very tight. plenty of non uniform body guard and police there.. tongue.gif

you may go the nearby fountain and exhibition hall though.. many tourists go there to capture the blue house view hehe

btw, sep is still warm.. weather will get cooler started oct

hi all,

thinking of going korea.

what's the price range for AAX to seoul/busan during the promo period previously? wanna see the difference in fare and whether should wait or not etc.

thanks a lot
*
can't compare previous fare as usually previous fare are more cheaper.. now what stuffs also expensive already and same goes to air ticket biggrin.gif if you want to purchase cheap fare, normally need to purchase promo ticket that is 1 year ahead or last minute promo ticket (most of the time AA will do this promo).

if you can get price range around RM680-RM750. is consider cheap already
