Regarding kitchen hob, may I know the pros and cons of glass vs ceramic vs steel?
*
1) Glass easy to maintain

2) Ceramic rarely gas hob use ceramic except rinnai inner flame and may be a few more brands. Mainly use to withstand higher heat. Normal flame design doesnt require ceramic glass.

3) Steel, hard to maintain and easily have scratches.

I read in the Web that glass hob cannot withstand heat from heavy cooking. Anyone has bad experience with it unsure.gif

Glass Hobs with normal burner design (burner above the glass) is OK. Rinnai inner flame, burner below the glass, that is they use Ceramic Glass

You can check with your friends or relatives, i believe most of them are using glass.

There was once a customer asked us to compare Fotile EEG 75201 with Senz. After going through the catalogs, i notice that both Fotile and Senz are using

1. Germany SCHOTT ceramic glass
2. Gerrmany EGO electrical heating elements

So, i believe both brands are similar but Fotile is at a lower price smile.gif

Depend what type of material you use for cooking, now there are many ceramic pots and pans, with ceramic if it drop on the tempered glass chances of breaking are higher because ceramic are tougher than tempered glass. Or accidentally put the hot ceramic pots on the glass, chances of breaking will be higher. You can google "ninja rocks"

While i read ceramic glass toughness are stronger hence chances of breaking are less. There are also tougher grade of tempered glass, but it was never put into the stove specification so we have to assume is the average grade.

Thanks for the explanation...
When I asked about electrical cooker from salesperson, she recommended Senz because she claims that Senz is specialized in this area. I didn't know that Fotile has the similar hood and hob...

So want to see any user here... hehe

Fotile is kinda famous for kitchen appliances just they didnt focus on advertising their electric hob like how Senz did smile.gif but if compare specs and touch the actual product you can tell they are quite similar.

Notice many customers PM me asking about Fotile CTS9004, when i asked them, seems that most of them are only choosing that based on the catalog spec rather looking and testing the actual product. Just my recommendation and my experience, EH10BQ would b a better choice with 3D air curtain, there is no need for strong suction, hence lower noise level and better cooking experience.

I have a Fotil IA90SV.

Problem: The Glass flip cover now closes when the exhaust fan is on and vice versa. Apparently like having system bug. Any advice?

This looks good. I wonder if it can capture fried chillies smell aka sambal goreng from dispersing to the whole house and settle on the curtain or even prevent everyone or neighbour from sneezing.

No 100% trap, you still get some smell all over the kitchen. Sambal, salted fish I can guarantee it will go all over the house even with this. For me, I have to close the wet kitchen door to prevent it go into my house.

1) Smell inside your house could be reduced but not 100%. My house has an open kitchen concept and we feel the smell is acceptable at the living hall.

2) As most of the smell will be extracted out of your house, if the duct outlet is facing directly at your neighbor and they did not close their windows, most probably they will smell it as well. So, it depends on the layout and location of the hood. For my house, smell cant get to my neighbor house.

If you need more info, get some photos or layouts to our shop for professional advise and tips.

If facing back road, then your neighbor wont complain about the smell.

May I ask the chimney hood like the one mentioned here, Fotile JQG9009, requires any ducting to route the smell outside of the house?

Can it function as recycling without ducting to outside?
