hi guys, have below question regarding hood installation and hope to get some feedback

my kitchen table top is 61cm width. based on the schematic diagram, I've made a hole in the center and there are roughly 75mm clearance both sides

the question is whether I should make similar clearance of 75mm (eg. add additional board) from the wall when installing the hood so that the hood will be right on top of the hob? Or if I just install the hood on the wall without clearance, will it affect the effectiveness?

No! The hood should be against the wall unless this is an island

hi, anyone knows how the simplest method to 'cover the hole' of the build in kitchen top? the reason is difficult to find matching cooking hob that matches the hole of 25"x14" per photo. appreciate some idea or help.

Are you sure it's 25 in x 14in? biggrin.gif
It looks a lot bigger than that

Measuring the hole in mm would be more accurate.
Most probably rubine ia920at can fit

The double pole switch itself is very cheap, few ringgit only
Maybe the rm160 is for hacking etc

You can just use the hood switch. Provided you can reach that switch. Otherwise, you need another switch for lower height.

1 switch is enough.

Sorry to hijack this thread for my purpose.

I am looking for a cheap cooker hood and gas hob.

The hood should be stainless steel.

The hob should be temper proof glass.

Budget below RM700.

Any recommendation where I can shop for them ? Around puchong area if possible.

i think he meant the switch on the hood itself biggrin.gif
btw i got three switch -
the 13A socket got one switch up on top near the hood which cannot be reach unless you stand on a ladder or chair
i also got another 20amp double pole switch near the countertop
and then the switch on the hood itself

i didnt make it that way but since it is there, i use only lah rclxms.gif
i know the double pole 20a is overkill in this situation

Remember the "problem" I had with the plug socket been outside the hood cover? Ok lah in the end cannot see too much. Had to cut a small lobang to pass the cable thru
