Closed kitchen, good enough. But you have to let it run for 10-15 minutes after finished cooking for all the smell to be extracted out.

Opened kitchen, it's not good enough.

I have serie 8 with better extraction rate in my house. Glad I put a door to separate my kitchen and the living room.

Thank you for the clarification! How about the reliability? I mainly chose Bosch for the quality assurance over the suction power which to some can be overrated and unneccesary on certain case. First time buying hood here for the new house

Can’t comment much on the reliability since I was only using it for only over a year so far. After-sales service is good. I called them once to check on defect and the response was quite fast and the technician was very experienced. Filtration was good. There was minimal trace of oil after the filter when I removed the filter for cleaning. Cleaning the filter was pain in the ass though sweat.gif

It sounds good enough if the after sale service is good. I think this is good product and easy maintenance though the cleaning filter pain. lol maybe I need to have strong look on their refrigerator as well

Their fridge built quality is good. So does the price sweat.gif

My only complaint about the fridge is that it is noisy, occasionally. It’s obvious at night when the whole house is in complete silence.

I have seen a good price(promo) on bottom freezer fridge(not SBS/french door) and made in turkey. Is this a standard for Bosch fridge or they hv other line up that made in somewhere else than Germany or Turkey?

By the way, which model are you using?

Mine is SBS. The outgoing model. They are still selling it but no longer in their website. Made in China. Their newer model also made in China.

Normally only Serie 8 lineup is made in Germany. Having said that, even Serie 8 dryer also not made in Germany, it’s made in Poland. I guess none of their factory in Germany is manufacturing dryers.

Hello, I have Bosch hood on deposit and wondering if this model is enough to handle not daily cooking(maybe 3-4 times per week cooking) for my 86cm hob. Malay cooking specifically like sambal, rendang etc. Kitchen size is around 300square feet and closed kitchen. Thank you!

Somehow, I have bias that Asian Brand cooker hoods perform better for Asian style cooking. Western type, I feel is more suited for Western cooking with less grease.

Looking at the filter on this cooker hood, cleaning it after a typical sambal tumis session will be tough.

Air circulation and specs is only as good as it gets, if the filter is clean.

The salesgirl told me the same too. However, if theres heavy grease stain stuck on the mesh filter, is it enough to clean them with really hot water mix with detergent and brush them off every each session?

Bigger is better since expensive item like fridge is not something that you want to upgrade so often. Better buy one size that could last you for 10 years or more.

You don’t need to clean the hood filter every session. Normally they would have indicator that your filter is due for cleaning. Normally I clean them every 1 1/2 month - 2 months or when the indicator illuminated, whichever earlier.

If you have dishwasher, you can just use them to clean the filter. Otherwise you need a container big enough to soak all 3 filters, fill it up with hot water and baking soda, let it soak for 10minutes or so before start brushing. What I normally use is the free tooth brush from hotel stays. Then I run them through running water until there is no visible grease be seen. Last step is to wash them with dishwashing liquid, just so that it doesn’t feel greasy. Then leave it to dry. Might take few hours to completely dry, depending on the humidity on that day.

Not sure, we only clean our Fotile hood once a month or sometimes once in three months. Major Cleaning every 2 years once (involves removing the fan and internal cleaning)

So far I find the two tier pyramid style filter easy to clean, over the past 7 years. Compared to our old Fujioh, which had baffle + mesh filter. The mesh filter is a nightmare to clean; as we didn't have dishwasher back then. Running it over hot water doesn't really degrease it and using a commercial degreaser, stripped off most of the filter coating along with the grease.

Not so rajin to clean after every use and mostly used by mom, hence I only clean whenever I am free and feel like cleaning it.

It does sounds like the fotile needs to undergo occasional service like air-conditioned unit which I have never once did on any of mine. I’m not the rajin type as well. haha Need to reaffirm the pros n cons of both types of filter. Maybe if I need to consider the mesh type, I have to treat them like a used plate after eating or just use the likes of Fotile and just use them and do regular clean up on the oiled cup and area

Thanks for the tips bro. I think the same on the fridge too. I would complain whenever my fridge is cramped. Should hv considered the size more wise for sure

Hi, I'm surveying for recirculation hood and electric hob. With my budget of RM3.5k, any suggestion for common asian cooking in an open kitchen?

Actually all hood require, if you use it on a daily basis. The fan will become dirty and noisy, this is a given for any cooker hood. Even our old Fujioh, with three tier filtration; also had grease deposits on the fan after 2 years or so.

I believe it can be a DIY job, but hate to handle the degreaser by myself; hence rather pay someone to do the job.

Anyone has feedback on Livinox? Can't seem to find much info compared to other brands.
