Urbanez, your website is down again? cry.gif

Do you have suggestions for gas hobs with continuous pan support? Something like this. icon_question.gif

A

Or even this

B

Personally, I'm not a fan of flimsy looking pan supports. Plus I'm a really clumsy person so I need the additional support.

I am wondering if Malaysia sells this kind of hob that fits perfectly in an island?

The idea is that I will still have an heavy cooking place, and this island is for korean bbq purpose, so the smoke is kinda minimal but still need a hob in that condo.

Do we have any hob like this in Malaysia?

Not sure you meant hob or hood but for island and that occasional cooking
you can put a domino size hob like this -

For hoods, look for island hoods like this -

Both are expensive sweat.gif

I think Fotile has an island hood. seen it in houz depot. Looks good, but nowhere as sleek and nice as these.

May have to try one those really high end kitchen suppliers

I was at Urbanez, the guy there showed me some pics of completed projects. One had a ceiling-mounted island hood like in your first pic. (but I am not sure if it is suitable for a condo, as it might need to be vented straight up thru the ceiling... ask them about it)

Some island hoods can be recirculating or ducted. I'm assuming since it's a condo, it'll be the recirculating type.

Need your opinion, based on my attachment, can I closed this plug and pull the wire to the top for my kitchen hood? without hacking the wall? (ignore the dirty tiles blush.gif )

cause i planning to put aluminum sheet behind as backsplash

But I bought it at the warehouse sale. Not sure if they come with it but I doubt it.
I know my old Fotile hood came with a set of plastic hose and metal wall cap. I still have them.

Hi OneMoreDay,

Our website is in construction period now. We are engaging the new service provider to revamp the Urbanez website.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Do post to us of any question and we are happy to help up. You may email to lowyat@urbanez.com.my.

By the way. You still looking around for your appliances since our last PM exchange in last Sept 2013. House just ready?

Regards
Ubzteam.

You found your wall cap yet? I don't have cockroaches but mosquitoes, can see a few stuck on the mesh every time I remove for cleaning. My main concern is birds nesting in the hole opening but so far no such incident yet. Having cap is a good idea.

The mesh I'm referring to are those that was installed on the hood, after awhile oil will accumulate therefore need to wash constantly. My air outlet don't have anything to cover that's why I'm a bit worried birds will start nesting.

For future unit I don't wanna install any hood, just put exhaust fan in wet kitchen. Easier to maintain as compared to hood where oil and grease will build up in motor and fan blades which is impossible to clean.

I was thinking the same thing!
Panasonic has one with an oil filter. I might put that to use in conjunction with the hood
Double exhaust

Can share which model? An exhaust fan is always a good addition to a hood.

I was looking for this thing too, whatchacall "wall cap"? Is it a proper term?

Cost me RM80 just to get an additional plastic ducting, my hood only provided a plastic ducting, no wall cap. Might source somewhere else.
