Kitchen HOOD

There are so many brands in the market, Electrolux, Elba, Rubine, Tuscani, Faber, Teka, Fotile, Whirlpool, Rinnai, Cornell, Bosch, Tellini, Lebenstill, Leben, Fujioh, Ikka, Pacific, Pacifica, Vees and many more. So which one of them is the best? Here is a discussion after reading and doing your own research, you decide which is the best.

Most end users will think that a good hood is a hood with strong suction power but that is not 100% true.
A good kitchen hood should have :
1) A good filter system with oil cup
2) Easy to clean & maintain
3) Reasonable strong suction power (1000m3/h and above)
4) Low noise level

1) A good filter system with oil cup

Here is a comparison between aluminum mesh filters vs pyramid shape filters

I will update more info everyday, do not have time to explain everything in one day.

My tuscani hood fan just stopped working after 5 years of light cooking. It's wall mounted with exhaust all the way to outside of house.

Shall I get someone to fix? How much roughly?

Or shall I just buy a new hood? Target less than rm1k, how much is installation?

Thanks.

yes is correct, because you do not have a duct, the air will circulate in your kitchen instead of blowing out of your house

It depends on the material used, if buying cheaper model, material will also be cheaper/thinner as well. However, my best seller Pepper 2B does not have this issue... why model r u using? If purchase from me, PM me your receipt, i help u claim free

Fotile only manufactures medium to high range products, the very cheap n low quality ones they dont sell, that is why as long as it is a FOTILE you can be assured of the quality.

Hi zheilwane, I recently got a rinnai kitchen hood but I'm wondering how to attach it close to the ceiling. It was mounted by the kitchen cabinet team.

The manual shows a bracket that can help attach the inner metal frame to the wall but I can't find this bracket?

I plan to recirculate the air as I can't use the ducting function.

you are missing a bracket, u need to call the seller who sold you the product, get him to double check and explain.

Thanks. I read that air blown back out to the kitchen is purified air after being filtered out grease, etc. I have a big mirror nearby the kitchen and I noticed that it gets greasy very easily. I suspect it is from the hood though I try not to use much oil. Any way to improve on the grease filter process? Anything I can add on? Brand is Rubine Boxline 2.

Why is your socket below the hood? Over time it will be oily.

Circulation will need charcoal filter, is the hood design for circulation? Check the manual.

1) make sure u dont open window or fan while cooking, it will blow the smoke that carry the grease

2) how long have u been using the charcoal, may b it is time to change.

3) May b u can snap some photos all around your kitchen for me to check what is wrong as well.

I do open the window but it is very small gap. Started using hood in Nov last year but I don't cook daily. On average maybe 3 meals per week. Will try to snap photo of the area.
