i just went deep, off yan couple of weeks back.
2d1n easy trip with few friends.

dropped in my unused leobrtiz 500.

came back tangan kosong. mabuk laut abit coz of the beer and the shit music my friend blast on his cacat handphone.

2d1n = 48 hours of non stop fishing and caught nothing......absolutely nbothing.

how come empty handed? Wrong spot for fish? Umpan not ngam?

not sure. spot is more or less there, umpan more or less there. got live bait using selar which we apolo up near shore, then got cut bait and frozen bait. i even use my ayam berempah as bait from my nasi lemak. nothing. all 6 ppl go all 6 empty handed.

been a while since i got into any power action.
last time used to visit natural exotic@rawang but ever since they move to behrang, never got the chance to go.

any sifus can advise on a suitable gear?
thinking wanna upgrade to a more sturdy build.
rod = was looking at ugly stik gx2 (is this still available in the market?)
reel = unsure yet but maybe a 4000 size

baits = read some blog, they use live lampam or cut keli. can pakai chicken heart ah?
any other advise?

I using Royjin 3000 reel
Berkley X9 30Lbs Braid Line 150m
Rod = Eupro x pro PE1-3

All the ponds I been thru. Any size Mekong ,chaophraya, red tail more then 20kg ..I easy can land up with no issue. Is depends how play pull the fish up. If beginner Exotic Behrang better get size reel 4000 with 40 Lbs braid line is good enough. ..don't have to spend expensive gear for fishing pond around here..

PE1-3 and PE2-4 spinning rod. Both with 3000/3500 spinning reel. Going for jigging and bottom but mainly bottom I think. Anyone has any experience using these on a boat for bottom?

can do light jigging. good thing if you can get information from your tekong prior to the trip what is the target fish first, then adjust your game accordingly.

Thank you. The thing is boat is booked and I don't have the bottom set. My usually tackle just said just try with current set up. Should be able to sustain. No point investing a new rig if seldom go this type of trip.
