all air purifiers are essentially a fan appliance where their power consumptions are similar to a table, ceiling or stand fan wattage rating, ie. ranging from 40W to 80W to 120W depending on your model....

Hi All,

I received news from AAF factory side that they decided to shorten the pre-launch promotion period from 16 Sept 2009 to 31 Aug 2009.
And will release PurAir 400A to open market. If you still interested on PurAir 400A, you can get it from any Jusco outlet or any AAF distributor.

Once again thanks for your interest on AAF product.
Thank you!

Regards,

Appreciate everyone's comments. I just landed here a month ago from Hong Kong where pollution is the talk of the town. After reading these links below, there was only one choice for me and my family and that was the very best premium air purifier on the market today at an affordable price. This is why Alen is the #1 Air Purifier in North America!

http://www.air-purifiers-america.com/ed_AP...ults-detail.asp
http://www.air-purifiers-america.com/compa...n.asp?tag=smoke
http://www.consumersearch.com/www/house_an.../air-purifiers/

Added on September 11, 2009, 12:08 amOnly air purifiers like the ALEN PARALDA that use "True" HEPA Media filters should be used. The filter was developed during World War II by the Atomic Energy Commission and it was designed to remove and capture radioactive dust particles from the air which might escape and present a health hazard to the researchers. The "True" HEPA filter was specifically designed to protect the Human Respiratory System. Even the CDC guidelines (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) for the transmission of tuberculosis (TB) recommend that only HEPA filters with an efficiency of 99.97% tested at 0.3 microns particle size be used.

WHAT ARE MICRONS?

A micron is a measure of length: "1 micron equals 1 millionth of a meter!". A particle that is 10 microns or less in size is not visible to the naked human eye.

Examples of some common air contaminants and their size in microns:

* Respirable Suspended Particulates (Industrial Pollution) ..(< 10 microns)
* Human Hair ......................................... (70 - 100 microns)
* Human Sneeze ................................. (10 - 100 microns)
* Pet Dander .......................................... (0.5 - 100 microns)
* Pollen ................................................... (5 - 100 microns)
* Spores from Plants .............................. (6 - 100 microns)
* Mold...................................................... (2 - 20 microns)
* Smoke ................................................... (.01 - 1 micron)
* Dust Mite Debris ................................. (0.5 - 50 microns)
* Household Dust ................................. (.05 - 100 microns)
* Skin Flakes ........................................... (0.4 - 10 microns)
* Bacteria................................................. (0.35 - 10 microns)

Its important to know this vital information to understand which air purifiers can effectively eliminate various contaminants.

I chose the Alen Paralda because its the first air purifier that is completely lead free, ozone safe, and Energy star qualified by the U.S Department of Energy and U.S Environmental Protection Agency. Meaning its extremely energy efficient. You would actually be able to pay for your air purifier in energy savings.

Here are the technical specs:

*Power Consumption: 55W
*Energy Consumption by fan speed: 1: 19W, 2: 29W, 3: 41W, 4: 55W
*Power Supply: 220V
*Controls: Electronic with light touch activation
*Room Size: For use in bedrooms, family rooms, offices
*Clock: Yes, 24 hour programmable (set speeds for when your at home or out at work)

*Dimensions: 7"W x 11"D x 28"H
*Unit Weight: 15 lbs
*Warranty: Lifetime
*Fan Speeds: 4
*HEPA filter efficiency: 99.97%
*HEPA filter life: 6-9 months continuous use
*UV lamp life: 3-5 years
*Noise level: 39 dBA on low - 60 dBA on high

-Extremely quiet operation

- Particles/waste/dust are either eliminated or contained to 99.7% by the highest quality Hepa media filter and they are not hiding inside the machine.

By looking on AAF PurAir200 and Sharp FU-S25E at same price RM699.

Both have Prefilter, Activated Carbon Filter , Hepa Filter BUT AAF have extra Photo catalyst net with 2 pcs UV light? It is good to have?

The next thing is how much cost for Carbon and HEPA filter? I hear AAF is expensive? Any 1 use this 2 product?

>>Reply from AAQ about the Carbon and Hepa cost.
AAF200 HEPA RM82 + Carbon RM78 = RM 160
FU-25 HEPA RM125 + CARBON RM73 = RM198

please comment. Thanks.

According to AAQ, Sharp FU-25 is discontinue model soon?
So will it hard to buy the filter after 2-3 year later?

Currently i have Super 8 at room and car, and i dun think it really work after use it for few year.

At this moment, AAF and Sharp is in my mind. < Rm700 for small room.

Hello All, something to share. Alen Air Purifiers are #1 overall in performance, price and quality!

I have to be honest, I got sucked in by the marketing on the SHARP Plasma-cluster along with some reviews but all were based on price. I went down the track of the IQ AIR based on what I feel was an over rotation to get something that could not be disputed but price was beyond acceptable.

Going back to the SHARP models, there was NO WAY of guaranteeing if the product actually worked unless you had high end testing equipment and do a before after test.

I was absolutely stuck!

The proof therefore was very simple! When I ran the Alen Paralda there was a noticeable and REAL difference in our health, especially my wife's, who is suffering after a 6 year stay in HK. Dry throat, running nose, cough, all gone in only 3 days.

Further, I am now running Paralda in all of my bedrooms and run a model A375 Multi Gas in my living room which is absolutely excellent.

Again, while stating the obvious that you cannot put a price on you and your families health, may I submit that Alen has designed Air Purifiers which DELIVER what is advertised at a price most affordable!

One small note, the Alen Paralda is the only Energy Star Qualified unit I have seen on the market today. The difference in the premium (which again is not anywhere near what you would think), will pay for itself and one big issue that everyone does not account for is noise. The Paralda is so quiet, you wont even know its on.

I hope this helps everyone with their decision as it took over 2 years and making the wrong decisions to bring me to these conclusions.

FYI, I contact AlenCorpAsia, and understand the SE Asian office will be based in Kuala Lumpur and product line available in the next 6-8 weeks.

If you can hold on and make the correct purchase the first time, unlike me, it will be very much worth it.

I bought a FU28 <RM700 and another unit KC-840E with humifdying function for around RM1200

for Air purifier/cleaners are IQ SWISS (got distributor...in cheras, but expensive...cost more than
RM4K.... ,) and AUSTIN brand (distributor in Seri Petaling, cheaper model around RM2200, and another
model RM4K + ) ....and now Alen brand... others are MNC with multiple products....
not sure whether effective or not... biggrin.gif

and now planning to get a unit for my living room...maybe I want to try those specialist Brands
such as Austin or Alen...and my budget around RM2K to RM3K...

if wanna buy air purifier, better look for performance but not brand. It shld suit purpose - clean air. Dirty air will cause sensitive nose, eyes irritating, coughing, asthma. If brand fantastic but can't bring fresh air, why shld I buy it?
