QUOTE(daryl23 @ Dec 23 2013, 04:13 AM)
while we are atm top of the table, i wanna remind the fans here, to keep their emotions and expectations in check. 2 very tough away games against 2 teams who are very very beastly at home. mancity this season has been scoring goals for fun, esp at home while jose has nt yet lost at home at the bridge. for me. i will b happy with 2 draws. why if u ask me, i think the 5-0 at spurs was more of a tactical battle where avb's persistence on a defensive high line brought way too many problems esp against players like hendo n suarez n sterling who likes to run behind defenders. the scoreline was way too flattering. i dont see mancity and chelsea doing such blunders esp with defenders who are slower in pace (demichelis, terry).

i wanna say, our defense hasnt look good all season apart from the first few games. cardiff caused us all sorts of problems with direct balls into the box n as mentioned, skrtel was lucky nt to gv away penalties which on another day, would hv been given.

while we always talk about the likes of the "big 4" with ars chels manc manu, dont forget everton who are unbeatan in 10 and newcastle who is on the up. never count out manu n spurs might just turn their season around with today's win against soton.

so, if things dont go our way in the next 2 fixtures, we can easily drop to 5th-7th depending on goal difference and hence i hope everyone to keep their head IF we lose.

also. dont be overly happy thinking suarez will still be with us next season after signing an extension to his contract, if he continues to perform like this till the end of the season and do decently in the WC, i see RM, PSG, and Juve, maybe even ars and chel come knocking for his signature. and if RM fail to win any trophies, the pressure will be on perez to splash again and i dont see luis turning RM down. if we are in top4, n RM comes calling, i'll say its only a 20% chance hes staying.

then again, for now, lets all enjoy the show he and the team put on for us. it has been brilliant. come to think of it, imagine if we did actually turn up against hull and won there. we would definitely be top for xmas.

merry xmas in advanced everyone. cant wait for ars chels tmr and boxing day!
*
Lighten up and enjoy the present.

Don't worry too much about the future.

Let the future worry about itself,
You have no control over that.

Oh we can only beat the team on the field on the day......... thumbup.gif

It's all about maths when it comes to football. We all know that.
Should the Arses fall tomorrow morning, that would be 1 out of 9 possible points in 3 matches. Does that mean they are no longer contender for the title? No way!

It's a marathon not a single event. While we're at it and doing well, let's enjoy. Worrying too much will only gives you grey hair and makes you look like that madman. tongue.gif

If Arsenal fail to win tonight, the top 5 would only be separated by 2 points. Never seen such a thing before by Christmas.

Oh yeah, the game against Cardiff, we wouldn't have accepted anything less than a win anyway. The real tests are the next 2 very tough away games. I'd be content with 2 points from these 2 games. Anything more is a bonus biggrin.gif

I'm really looking forward to our clash against Man City. I wanna see how we fetch against the most fearsome home team right now, I reckon it'll be one hell of an exciting game of football. (4-1 vs MU, 6-0 vs Spurs, 6-3 vs Gunners) Hopefully we get to see Mignolet in god mode. smile.gif

Skrtel always do that. I already notice from the time he play for liverpool. His style of playing football like rugby. Always want to tear opponent shirt  laugh.gif
If skrtel still grab somebody like cardiff last night, sure we will giveaway penalty.
Remember how many time comentator highlight about that?sure they (referee) will discuss about that n will been pressure to give penalty if skrtel do that again. Furthermore extra help from spectator at etihad?

4 centre backs and 2 wing backs....only then we can probably salvage a draw with man city. tongue.gif

if Chel win - top 4 split by 1 point shocking.gif

Come to think of Spurs is only behind the top of the table by 6 points and AVB got sacked. sweat.gif

The title isnt even on my mind.

Main target is for that Champions League spot.

Europa League will be a consolation prize.

And the League of course would be a miracle bonus.

Luis Suarez sets record for goals scored in a month. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since the absence of Stevie G, Hendo has take on the extra responbilites and showing some of his true potentials.

We'll see where the team stands after these next 2 games. After that, the matches against the big 5 or 6 is pretty much spread out for the remainder of the season. Not facing them in consecutive matches, subject to change of course.

Target is definitely top 4. Even BR himself acknowledges that it's unprecedented for a team that finished 7th the previous season to win it in the current season.

if we still have chance with 5 remaining games then i count liverpool as title contenders, else top 4 is still the most realistic target. 2 lost in a row and we might find ourselves out of top 4, this is how competitive the league have become.

i'll be very satisfy as long as we don't get thrashed by city and steal a point from chelsea, anything more is a bonus.

ps: i sure hope bookies work their magic and let liverpool win against city and chelsea biggrin.gif

Was gonna write this Suarez trivia biggrin.gif

QUOTE
With his two goals in the 3-1 victory over Cardiff City at Anfield, Liverpool striker became the first player to score 10 goals in a calendar month in the Barclays Premier League.

The Uruguayan's opening strike at Anfield took him clear of Mark Viduka's record of eight goals for Leeds United in April 2003. Suarez then struck another to be the first player to reach double figures inside a month. The double also meant he becomes the first player to score at least two goals in four consecutive Barclays Premier League matches.

With two more Barclays Premier League fixtures to come in December, against Manchester City on Boxing Day, then away to Chelsea on 29 December, Suarez could extend his record even further.

aahhahahhaah

yes a premier league would be immensely rewarding.... for Stevie G to lift it... his career would be complete.

But we are just 'not there yet'.

My player of the season so far, apart from Suarez, would have to be Hendo, followed closely by Flanno.

Hendo has been superb these past few games.

Etihad stadium = nightmare for all the team in BPL, I'd hope that we snatch a win there, which is kinda hard, a draw would be good enough. Even if we lose I won't be upset given that our players given all out, and not became frustrated like how Arsenal's Wilshere middle finger gesture to the MCity fans. I hope our players will give MC a good fight even if we were trailling, don't become a bunch of lazy worms(Moses). laugh.gif

As much as all the fans want him back, but I don't think BR fancy him much, most probably he will only back to us after the season long loan spell finish.

I'd say lets try to be title contender for this season, and the next season lets recall Jamie back from his retirement, and we win the league for him and Stevie. laugh.gif
