All I want for Christmas
is my two front WINS,
my two front WINS,
see my two front WINS!

Gee, if I could only
have my two front WINS,
then I could wish you
"Merry Christmas."

It seems so long since I could say,
"Liverpool beating them TWO BLues!"
Gosh oh gee, how happy I'd be,
if I could only whistle (thhhh, thhhh)

We may not win the league and honestly we shouldn't win it on paper. But this season presents a rare opportunity because all the top clubs are going through changes. City and the mancs have new managers, Chelsea are struggling to produce their best football, Spurs just sacked AVB and that leaves Arsenal who like us didn't go through drastic changes over the summer. It's not so much with us making tremendous leaps (tho we have been making great progress) but more towards the other clubs dropping their standards due to instabilities and etc.

Obviously there's still a lot of football left to play and it's asking a lot for the team to maintain their form. But the team must realize that the other tops clubs have really done us a favor by dropping points every now and then. In a way, the situation is similar to when Rafa's Valencia won the league twice when both Barca and Real were going through major structure changes. This doesn't happen often and the team must realize that they need to capitalize from it.

Good points....

While they are at it.........winning the PL will mean

a) we have $$$$$$ to reinforce
b) Suarez will more likely stay
c) Monkeys will wanna join
d) reinforcing will mean we will be nearer to the lofty standards of the oil Sheiks and Ruskie Mafia

That sets us up for the foreseeable future

If we can get something out of the next 2 matches, then it may open some doors in January. Doors that have been remained shut for years. To remain competitive up to now is massive. The last time we saw ourselves in similar circumstance was the 08-09 season where we finished 2nd. If BR can sell it to FSG and convince other top players to join our ranks, we may just be be able to mount serious challenge for the ultimate top prize. We're doing well but to win the league you really need to be on another level - a level which i feel is within our reach if we can dig in and reinforce in January.

Yessum.

Even two well fought draws will send a message.
IMO the January transfer window is critical to our maintenance of a challenge with our smaller than thou squad.
If we can lure someone like Mikthryan to reinforce the midfield with goals, we may be able to boost our chances of at least being in top 4 come April.

We need to spread out the goals. With Sturridge out, goals from other areas has greatly diminished.
I like to see the midfield goals reinforced/augmented

We started off a foot earlier than our rivals in preparation. We concluded business before they even began.

If rumours are true, then we should be concluding the business for Mr Wrong, Momo Salah and Fernando.

Which means we are again a step ahead of them.

We normally peak to our finest form in the 2nd half of the season and this is already evident in our recent displays albeit there may be abit of hiccup along the way.

If we keep the momentum of 2nd half of last season going, we will be there rightfully.

yes rare opportunity indeed esp several big clubs in transition (manager).

on paper to me, city & chelsea has the best squad overall. in theory either one should run away with it.

I have conveyed my thoughts (to my chelsea friend, a die hard kaki) on WHY Chelsea seems to be struggling (a-wee bit) with jose. (he has been there at chelsea before, therefor no bedding in process).

My guess is jose is stubborn to to utilise the "form squad" (i.e. that won a trophy & finished strongly in the league last season esp after struggling for 6 months under a certain mr likeable italian guy & got replaced by an interim one) because perhaps jose is such a special one who cannot take taunts "You won it with the interim manager's squad" whistling.gif whistling.gif (jibe). Jose seems to not pick (first 11) couple of notable players who spoke glowingly of the interim before. [speculation saja]

Anyway. yawn.gif

Lets hope both arsenal & chelsea be at each other's neck. And liverpoolfc continue our path to secure a champions league placement. (our priority). anything more is a bonus cool2.gif

Just watched the news covering Maureen and Arse interview. Finally understand why Juan Mata was dropped early in the season. He didnt track back quite often enough. Just like Raheem last time.

It is also probably why Ibe is not getting a game, while great in attack, left the team vulnerable by not helping to track back. Which means, player like Assaidi will probably never fit in to the plan unless he change his game and start working hard for the team.

Now all our players track back and work like a team, even the attack minded Couts. Brilliant.

Suarez really humbled himself a lot when he is off the pitch. He shows really good character and i am starting to see people change their view of him. I noticed nobody booing him now compare to last time.

Funny and cute video by the way. tongue.gif
