Thanks for the feedback man. I'm torn between those two. Can't decide which one to get until now.

Wonder when rMBA will exist lol
*
i'd be wary if there's rMBA, seeing how rMBP sometimes can be sluggish due to the extra pixels, i shudder to think what rMBA would be like.

if you don't carry it around that much and are ok with most likely 5-6 hours of battery life, go for rMBP.

Hello dainuri, smile.gif

As far as I know, the default size for 13" is 128GB, and 15" is 256GB. Both of it is in SSD smile.gif

Why? You want to upgrade it yourself ? I am not sure if there is a compatible SSD for 2014 rMBP at the moment.

When I am at the office, it will definitely be running 8:00am to 5:00pm. But when I am off for a meeting, I will put it to sleep. At home it depends. I usually use it between 9:00pm above till around 3:00am. Touch wood, so far so good.

Thank you for the feedback. From your statement above, you spend a lots of time on macbook & did not face any problem. Good to hear that smile.gif Because, now I'm doing research, so most all of my time spend on macbook. From morning till I sleep cry.gif I don't have any desktop, so my macbook is my main pc for me, I'm afraid if overuse it will damage the hardware cry.gif

Usually, equipment that is all original from manufacturer will be ok for long usage. Those that have issues like burnouts, failures etc if one really look at the equipment in question usually other 3rd party stuff are being used. So long as the equipment is not a modded one, there shouldn't be any issues. Inferior accessories such as power cords, cables, adapters, these items may be well designed but are they perfect partners with your equipment? Also the work environment do play a part. Ample room for notebook to breath, dry conditions also plays a part in its well being.

FYI, this is my first mac, previous are all PC based notebook. All I can say is that the quality of finish is very high compared to other brand notebooks. So if it is quality finished, then it should be quality designed. I am enjoying my rMBP very much.

Hi guys,

I just bought a mbp pro 15inch last week and purchased my micosoft office 365 for it. The only problem that I'm facing now is that every time that i turn on my laptop, my word, excel and powerpoint slides opens up automatically.

Any idea how to get this solved ?

Thanks.

Do you tick on the Reopen Windows after logging back for shut down?

You can disable those apps automatic launch via right click the dock icon, go to Options and until the Open at Login

Been using my RMBP for 2 years now mostly in window 7 boot camp but do occasionally go into OS X.

My usage during last 2 years of college: Rendering with Photoshop & lumion; Google Sketch Up 3D modelling & AutoCad 2D Drafting. all these done in 36 hours non stop before. Never face any issue at all. Just that now need to service the fan suspect dust clot up to my fan make the fan sound more audible.

If your usage is not as intense as me, then you will be fine. make sure ur room and ur mbp is well ventilation. Elevate ur mbp using books or boxes or get those laptop stand so that it can get better ventilation instead of putting in the flat surface.

Thank you for your feedback smile.gif I'm just bought my MBPr in May 2014, so since then I'm rarely shut down my macbook, only when going to sleep. After hear all from your feedback, I'm relieve now, means that macbook can turn on for long time. Btw, I'm using my macbook just for academic purpose (etc: research article, pdf, surfing, words), no multimedia/gaming usage wink.gif

Hello shankar,

Sorry to ask, but after you open those ms office, did you quit the apps before shut down ? Right click at the apps then quit, or open the apps click (CMD + Q).

Before this I'm also face those situation, because I only click "x" button, when turn of my laptop, all those apps will pop out automatically. smile.gif
