1. Can we use old thunderbolt cable / minidisplay-hdmi? No such thing TBII cable right?
2. Stutter-wise - 4K movie (download) play to extended display
3. Speed-wise transferring 10GB movie file to Drobo 5D for example

All thunderbolt cable was the same.

From late 2013 MacBook Pro retina only offering with thunderbolt 2 port.
This it transfer rate more faster than thunderbolt 1.

Find out as my data here : http://vintagephotograph.weebly.com/thunderbolt-adaptor.html

you can do it via network sharing. you need another laptop with with a cd drive bay and connected to same wireless network. A is ur mac; B is the another laptop.

Copy the disc content to B's public folder, then access to the B's public folder using ur mac ( A ). make sure it's dmg. file yo thumbup.gif

Graphic issue or retina display too sharp and refresh then no issue.

Hi there. I'll be getting myself a rMBP 13" base model which is the i5 haswell, 4gb ram and 128gb SSD. Will it be okay and long lasting? I will be using it for assignment, YouTube and surfing web only. If I order from Apple Store Malaysia, will they deliver the product exactly according to my address. Since I'm a student, I am eligible to get education pricing and another extra discount since apple is having Red Sale (Jan 10)? TQ.

i suggest you to get the 256GB model.
you can only choose education price or Red Friday Sale discount, you can't combine as its on different website.
K-12 operates independently, Red Friday Sale is on normal website.
compare the price on friday and purchase from the cheaper one

Hello there. I am also thinking of getting a MacBook Pro. On Red Friday, Apple store also discount? If buy online, will the discounts offered and sale be according to store opening time?

Also understand iWork's comes free with the MacPro. Please advice if already installed or we need to install it. Sorry, newbie here.

Thank you.

Does MacBook Air 13" display is okay? Will I see pixels because I'm used to my Full HD smartphone display? I'm currently having headache on choosing either MacBook Air 13" i5,4gb & 256gb SSD or MacBook Pro 13" i5,4gb & 128gb SSD. MacBook Air 13" cost RM3749 and add RM100 can get MacBook Pro @ RM3849. Arghhhhhhh icon_question.gif rclxub.gif

Does 4gb ram enough for 2013 rMBP since I'm using for assignments, YouTube, MS office? not for gaming though. blink.gif Apple is now still selling the MBP with disc reader, is that retina or not?

depends on u,i'm also using a 286ppi smartphone, well.beautiful i can say,u won't sees single pixel at normal viewing range,if u are viewing at 15cm(length of ruler) from the screen, then u will see a bit of the icon edge, but who would look at the screen so closely for long term sweat.gif
for me,i'm studying engineering,i need the hardware power rather than fancy display, thus i went with an i7,256,8gb ram
depends on what u do with it in the end,if u don't need processing power with <4k budget,i would get the retina macbook pro
