Just got my rMBP late 2013 today  rclxms.gif
Does anyone know how I can install my microsoft office 2011?
I still have the DVD with me.. but without superdrive, can i use remote disc (driver sharing) to install microsoft office using the superdrive from my old MBP?
Or do guys have any better ideas?
*
you can do it via network sharing. you need another laptop with with a cd drive bay and connected to same wireless network. A is ur mac; B is the another laptop.

Copy the disc content to B's public folder, then access to the B's public folder using ur mac ( A ). make sure it's dmg. file yo thumbup.gif

But in Mac OS X it run quiet and a beast. just having some little problem with my screen. =X

Lads i'm using MBPR Late 2012 running 24/7. Past few weeks my wireless was working fine.

It stated on last week if not mistaken. I start to have network problem whereby i am connected to wireless but has no internet access.

I was on my upstair living room. When i go to the study room which where the router located it work perfectly well. And of course the speed is tremendously fast. now in the living room its slowing down.

PS: my laptop have been in that position with wireless plug in all the time and only facing issues now.

Solutions anyone?

And if i were to move the location of the modem it will take very much work as all the phone line is there.

I thought of using this

Range Extender

or

Wifi USB Range

or

Wifi USB extender 2

Solutions anyone?

Im new to apple, actually what the point if buy a macbook pro then bootcamp into window? Is that market don have any window laptop is better than a macbook pro retina now? So alot of ppl here choose apple?
*
Frankly mac is way more user friendly than window. It's a simplify version. if you not into computing adn constant troubleshoot go for mac

1 apple last longer than average laptop
2 apple expensive is because of inside out especially Retina. You will not judge how expensive is the hardware or why is it so expensive unless you own one. I used to judge until the day i own one
3 Bootcamp existence because mac run own OS and some people find their software ain't mac compatible so they use bootcamp or parallel dekstop to use their desire software.
4 Retina is one of the kind of laptop. Just like Razer laptop and other normal gaming laptop.

If you really look into how retina and why is it design such a way you won'y complain. you will say how much you love it

Guys Do you all know where got sells the mac book pro retina display screwdriver set?

Thought of opening the rear to clear the dust. Gaming on my mac a bit laggy now. Suspect a lot of duct stuck inside.

Cuz driver for bootcamp isn't perfect
Windows 7 isn't lean as Mac OS X, task require higher performance to support
Google chrome is RAM hog
*
So is entirely normal of my mac to react that way? i thought of taking it to service centre to check is it dust clock inside

When our dual fan reached 6,000 rpm.... U will heard the sound...~

What happened to your screen?
*
I think it's some sort of graphic card or laptop hardware glitch.

I don't see that now at all after frequent nvidia and other software update.

*
mate i was refering to the screen.

for the fan i do have it on mac but not on window as i run window 24/7 on my mac now as some incompatibility. Nevertheless i still hear my mac roaring quite loud ( on window )

Thanks for the reply.. Just called Mac City service provider. Unfortunately they do not fix scratches. =(..Still hoping anyone here can help me regarding this matter.

The moment I wanted to cover it with the case, thats the time I found scratch...its just 2 months old.. =(
*
When my mac book reach 4th month old and i have ady ditched the cover whatsoever. I rather have my mac book to be naked because all those cover etc make my mac even more heavy.

Mine scratch damage on my mac is way worse than urs. my mac is only 9 month old now

A heads up: one of the advantage of having naked MBP and being mobile all the time make you more careful than usual with casing to prevent from scratch.

Hi, anyone here can share their memory (RAM) usage on MBPr while idling and light usage?
My MBPr late 2013 (8GB RAM) showing around 3.5GB to 4GB usage while idling (doing nothing) just open Finder.
While on light usage (downloading from safari and app store) the memory usage is almost max. 7.8GB

i'm using MBPR Late 2012 and it's VERY normal i would say. mine is ady 2 years old. performance for MBPR seems to be this way for this thing profile!

chaps how much does it cost to replace one of the fan in my rmbp late 2012. Yesterday i was holding my macbook and happen to grad it at the fan area and i heard the fan stop spinning. Then i press it again. Then the fan spin like a lambo going from 0-100 in 2.9 seconds.

Do any of you knows people do service rbmp at reasonable price?

Thank you for the feedback. From your statement above, you spend a lots of time on macbook & did not face any problem. Good to hear that smile.gif Because, now I'm doing research, so most all of my time spend on macbook. From morning till I sleep  cry.gif I don't have any desktop, so my macbook is my main pc for me, I'm afraid if overuse it will damage the hardware  cry.gif

Been using my RMBP for 2 years now mostly in window 7 boot camp but do occasionally go into OS X.

My usage during last 2 years of college: Rendering with Photoshop & lumion; Google Sketch Up 3D modelling & AutoCad 2D Drafting. all these done in 36 hours non stop before. Never face any issue at all. Just that now need to service the fan suspect dust clot up to my fan make the fan sound more audible.

If your usage is not as intense as me, then you will be fine. make sure ur room and ur mbp is well ventilation. Elevate ur mbp using books or boxes or get those laptop stand so that it can get better ventilation instead of putting in the flat surface.
