thx for vearn27 and prasys clarification, now i get it  nod.gif . I'm a MBP 2012 user currently, had upgraded ram to 16gb and bootcamp a win8 for some programming. Gona pass this mbp for family later.

With the budget, Im struggling to upgrade the ram or storage in purchase new MBPr. Anyone has experience in bootcamp from external hdd? How is the performance?
*
You're struggling with picking upgrading to 256GB or 512GB? I have mine at 256GB and any big files I'll just dump them into my external. If it's big, it less likely meant for frequent access anyway. That's me, but I couldn't be sure for your scenario.

If you're going to run bootcamp on it, please take note of this --> http://www.lowyat.net/2015/03/boot-camp-fo...orts-windows-7/

Yes, im considering option 1) 8 > 16gb ram or 2) 128 > 256 gb. if choose 128gb for one OS, it barely sufficiency but not two OS, thus looking for external HDD bootcamp as alternative .

Thx for post, i will bootcamp in win8.

That's normal depending on what apps you're running. Always check your activity monitor to see if some process has gone AWOL.

Guyz, nowadays I'm usually face overheating on my 2013 RMBP. I use it for programming ex: Android Studio + Netbeans & connect with external monitor.

I'm scared if it will effect my internal parts. How to re-check my temperature on my rMBP?

rMBP 256GB from RM5,199 up to RM5,511 after GST implementation. Finally we see Sg Apple Store cheaper despite the high currency exchange.

What do you mean by "re-check my temperature"? Just use SpeedFan (Windows) or SMCFanControl (OS X) and you can see the temperature.

It wasn't almost bro....

For example:

13" rMBP 256GB - SG = S$1988 (RM5324.03)
13" rMBP 256GB - MY = RM5511

That's 3%++ difference in price.

All the while before this, Sg was higher than M'sia.

Is depend you earn SGD exchange to RM or used RM buy SGD market rate now was : Rm2.71 to 1 SGD

So overall in MSia much higher than SG now

If by ur calculate = 187 RM = $69.50 the between is the gap.. So for example to buyer won't consider to purchase in M'sia anymore cause due to receipt issue out.

Meant next time M'sia really markets downward.

That's a huge increase despite the higher exchange rate against SGD.

Before this, MY's store has always been cheaper.
