QUOTE(SSJBen @ Aug 20 2019, 05:19 PM) That's not my setup, just an example that I found for the Prime Elevations. feature aspect, i think they are almost the same (compare same price range receiver), right? maybe just some extra minor feature, which is not really important? correct me if Im wrong It doesn't really... work that way? The speakers dictates how a movie (or anything really) sounds like for the vast majority of what you hear. The receiver (and amp) doesn't quite "add" or "alter" that sound quality. It's a bit more complex than that. Different room EQ (in this example Audyssey vs YPAO for Denon vs Yamaha) will work differently in different rooms, which is one of the most important things in home audio. So just with that alone (along with several other variables like the amp section in receivers) already discredit a comparison between receivers. So to just compare Denon vs Yamaha, which is better for movie... you can't compare it that way in a apples-vs-apples comparison. You choose a receiver based on the features you want and how deep your pockets are. Not how they "sound". QUOTE(sonerin @ Aug 20 2019, 08:41 PM) thank you for your feedback |

QUOTE(kevinlim001 @ Aug 20 2019, 04:51 PM) Immerse yourself in multi-dimensional audio with Dolby Atmos. Set up Dolby Atmos with a 5.2.2 surround sound speaker system using Dolby Atmos elevation speakers, or dedicated overhead speakers, for the ultimate home theater experience. Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization provides immersive audio without height channels, creating virtual height effects in a 7.2, 5.2 or 2.2 speaker arrangement. thank you yea i could be wrong.. it says 5.2.2. So should not be any prob. |

Hi all, any comment or input for Klipsch RP-500M or 600M? Im aiming this for my main front speaker (80% movie, 20% music), or any other suggestion for good bookshelf speaker? (budget < Rm3.5k).
Most likely i will reused my yamaha small satellite speaker as my surround speaker. what do you think about center speaker? is that really important? because i plan to reused my yamaha tiny center speaker as well, subwoofer will upgrade in future also (refer below for my yamaha satellite speaker set); perhaps just add 1 pair of Atmos speaker (any suggestion model)? Plan only for 5.1.2 due to small living room ^^ thanks again all ![]() This post has been edited by kskoay: Aug 21 2019, 07:23 AM |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Aug 20 2019, 01:04 PM) The easiest way not to cut holes in your ceiling is to just do on-walls, high up. It's about as easy as it gets, drill 4 holes - put a bracket, install your speaker - pull your wire. actually if i do a wall install for the Dolby Atmos speaker like what you share in the pic, should i set the speaker to "Front Height L/R" or "Front Dolby Atmos"? Example: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « It's leagues better than the silly upfiring method, doesn't cost too much to do and can be done in an hour or so. Clean up is also minimal. if i set to "Front Height L/R", will i get Dolby Atmos sound effect? Based on Denon receiver manual, the speaker setting for "Front Dolby Atmos" is design for sound firing purpose (Atmos enable speaker sit ontop of front main speaker) thanks again |

QUOTE(kskoay @ Aug 21 2019, 03:11 PM) Yes.It's literally in the manual: ![]() All 3 setups; front height L/R, top front L/R, and top middle L/R will be able to playback Atmos/DTSX effects as long as the source is encoded with Atmos/DTSX. |

finally, bought Yamaha RX-A1080 + Klipsch RP-600M (as front speaker) and R-41SA (as front height speaker for Dolby Atmos), currently looking at center speaker, subwoofer and 4k TV....
