Is BOSE speaker value for money?

Is soundbar e.g. BOSE SoundTouch 300 Soundbar, performance close to 5.1ch systems?

I am using sonos soundbar with subwoofer. No complaint for that but do take note they are not THX and dolby certified.
I like it due to the constant software and firmware upgrade they come up, and its user friendly.

U mean sonos 5.1 home theater with play:1 ?

yup. The sound is good enough for me but cannot compare if you are a audiophile. I like this due to I just connect one cable from the TV to the playbar and the rest is wireless.

How is Yamaha YSP-5600 and Samsung HW-K950? Any comment for both of them?

I believe these 2 are not cheap, I wouldn't spend that kind of money on sound bar as there are better 5.1 options. Unless you specifically want only sound bar for whatsoever reasons.

i had try both sound bar but both cannot compare with normal home theatre system... If 7k budget can get home theater system with dolby atoms and DTS:X support?

Recently just bought a 65" MU7000 Samsung TV.
And I going to matched with Sony BDV-E6100 Home theater system with Bluray. Was a little bit limited budget. But managed to nix the speaker for RM800 (Lazada selling RM1799) with 5.1 system.

Tuning the woofer to 2.5db and little bit higher. Tho sound from the sub is quite decent.
Cant complain much since its a RM800 set. I happy with my purchase. Waiting for delivery tho. For condo usage.

Might consider to go for something more juice and power in near future when budget is ready. Now very kering edy coz of all the reno and moving in stuff...

please define your home theater system. how many speakers do you expect? 5.1.2 or 5.1.4 ? there's a huge price gap there.

Have not tried the Yamaha but i do have Samsung HW-K950 ( the price is ~ RM4000 ) after discount from 11street, for sure cannot compete with normal speaker+atmos speaker but you do have to remember there is no way u can get atmos sound system for only RM4k, and not to mention no wires running around ( important for me as i do not want to hack my walls to hide the speaker wires ). The sound is pretty awesome and i am very satisfied with it, easily loud and powerful enough

Most budget AVR already support .2 Atmos heights.

One thing with box set you can't change or upgrade but will have to change everything
