One question... In the exam I started every question on a new age but didn't start every part on one, was too stressed and it skipped my mind.. Like part a b c etc would they penalize for that??
*
No la, but in the future better dont do that again
Start question on new page helping examiner to mark your paper, but if u didnt do it didnt get penalize just better dont do that again

I don't get what you said! However, if you have started every question on a new page then it is considered good and even ACCA says to do so. You don't need to start every part of a question on a new page.

It's perfectly fine. Actually I do mine the way you describe. Every part on a new page seems very wasteful or paper.

Ok great. Thank you! Helps my peace of mind. Mine wasn't out of a concern for paper but rather It just slipped my mind to leave some space.

But HELP, Kasturi and so many other colleges still call it CAT!!
It should officially be announced by the Ministry of Education to change it since it really confuses many students!

Well, that's Malaysia for you.

You must understand a little more about ACCA.

Previously the foundation is known as CAT, which is mandatory to take all 9 papers. t1-7 and 2 optional papers from t8-10.

It is renamed to FIA in 2011 if I'm not mistaken and only require to complete the FAB (t5), FFA (t6) and FMA (t7).

If you completed all 9 papers in FIA, you will get CERTIFIED ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN (CAT) QUALIFICATION.
(source: http://www.accaglobal.com/en/qualification...se-details.html )

However in Malaysia, MQA required you to get CAT to study ACCA (assuming have no higher qualification or spm).

That is why it is no wrong to say CAT as you need to get CAT cert to continue ACCA course.

The way you wrote was kinda offensive lol
Never-mind though! But usually many students get confused with these two qualifications and even the colleges seem to not tell them about it!!!

Do you mean this statement, "You must understand a little more about ACCA"? sweat.gif

That it indirectly assumes or implies <something impolite about your knowledge> from your perspective?

Haha. Sorry if that's what you feel but I didn't mean it. It's not offensive actually, just details. (with no capital letter and offensive words). The first line maybe? hmm.gif

I'm writing it just as a guidance only and time-saving, so less hassle in trying to understand the system.
I was one of the students facing issues during the transition period of " from CAT to FIA".

IIRC, in order to obtain CAT qualifications, you'd need to pass 9 papers.

What about now? Is it still 9 papers, or only 3, based from your reply?

I have one extra set for both F8 & F9 past year papers (both up to June 2013). They are new & clean.

No binding. Just normal fastener.

Would like to let go at RM10 each. Originally costs around RM18.

Interested party please PM me.

Thanks.

The P2 appears to be fine to me. I have practiced a few past exam questions and mocks on cash flows, financial instruments, determination of control, revenue, lease, held for sale assets, PPE etc.

What a kill is the theory on accounting policies in Q4, although the application appears to be fine.

P2 disaster for me as well.. how can cash flow question be so difficult.. sad.gif
