I'm thinking to get an A/C for our new home. Most of the installer just put a cheap looking casing or some not even have one, leaving only the black round foam and some wiring tighten by using a zip tie. Well I'm looking for this nice case. Is this available in Malaysia. Attached pics when I was in Hatyai recently. It looks like their appliances accessories, even like those small things (switches/sockets) they are using certified and reputable brand like Panasonic/National. really high quality stuffs.

5-10 years ago i remembered..panasonic aircond was very famous n all..everyone said buy panasonic good quality etc..now I see people recommend york or ascon..very good quality etc..

after few years other brands will rise up...but really how to technically compare quality of the products if dont open them up and see what is inside? my 2 cents

Even china brand already branded up and premium quality than local panasonic or York, price cheaper but got inverter DC motor somemore, like media or Gree also best buy.

From what I knew passed over few years still never see the Japan branded come with digital temperature display indicate show on the unit, but Gree can have it design or last time LG Artcool also offer it kind of design.

Nowaday if wanna buy cheaper from japanese brand n rather choose over china made lah, cheap n good, used for short while and replace with new model again.

How to choose between Air Cond under spec Refigerant R22 or R410A. I see got 2 spec in the market

Mostly for inverter unit only come with R410a

Between R22 and R410A isnt different much is it?

Will the cost for refill a lot higher between R22 and R410A?

4. Price < RM 1000 (include installation)

Currently using non inverter haier, samsung & fujiaire aircond, my only complain is high power consumption.

Panasonic,but need to spend a little few hundreds or York and Acson will do,they're not really electric drinker

Any try on for brand Hitachi?

I have them but 90s model where the QC worker done a good job

I bought Hitachi RAS-XE10CC for my room around April this year and it was not working two months later --> auto-turn off by itself!

Contacted Hitachi support on Monday and got case number, they promised there will be follow-up on this. No response nor follow-up from Hitachi until I raised my complaint on Thursday, then they dispatched a technician to come over.

He took around 45 minutes to diagnostic the problem and then by changed the PCB in Outdoor unit, problem solved.

That's my experience with Hitachi after sales service.

That fast broke down alrdy? How come i cant search for your Model through hitachi website.

You didnt call your electrical shop for support? Why you have to call by yourself to settle the issue?

Quality really damn suck

I am currently using York. In terms of looks, nothing really special. But it's really cold. If the a/c is blowing at you, setting the temp at 26C is already sufficient, so electricity consumption is not high.

No point using inverter unless your a/c is switched on most of the time as you will not see a substantial savings in your electricity bill. Cost to service and fix is also much higher. Even installation fee is higher as it requires different pipes to function at its optimum.

This is DC Inverter Deluxe model. It was released in this earlier year but I'm not sure why it was removed from the Hitachi website.
The seller did assist me raise ticket with Hitachi and I asked him give me case number.
Since I'm in hurry to get this AC work again, I called Hitachi directly and was told their response time is 48 hours after case opened. But nobody follow-up with me until Thursday afternoon, so I called up Hitachi and complaint about their response time.

Yeah... better get other brand.

I see..so panasonic also acceptable in the market which better than hitachi ya?

i heard before recently early Aug from 1electrical shop, said Mitsubishi AC outdoor unit produce noise compare to other brand. and, he recommended electrolux.. really electrolux good in AC??
