It doesn't come with a starter; it was a leftover from the old window rattler aircond (from 15 years ago or something like that).

I don't know why the contractor didn't just wire the new aircond directly instead of through the starter shakehead.gif

Ha ha very old school for that starter should be green & red button smile.gif)

Dun play play just change the starter n rather than burning over.

Less job for contractor... whistling.gif
Very common, just tap the existing line, then job complete, instead need to take out the wire from the starter/contactor, and need to install a switch for it.

Hi folks, recently I just moved from a condo to Semi D. I'm not the first owner, but the developer equipped 9 air conditioners,I heard from my new neighbors the air cond is a cheapo brand so it doesn't save energy at all. I enter this house last Saturday and its not very hot lately so I only turn it on once. Most of my neighbors change the air cond so I think its better for me to change it. I use Toshiba air cond for my condo but nowadays no more Toshiba air conds. So any recommendation? House size is around 3900+sf,and 5 bedrooms. Thinking of replacing 8 of them. All bedrooms, dining room, living hall and upstairs hall. I don't really get the idea why do they even put one for the stairs. No Panasonics,I tried their set at a hotel it sucks. So I think of Hitachi,York. I don't really care about noise,I'm okay with it smile.gif

Look like your semi-d over 3000sf maybe can consider for Dakin inverter VRV system for 1 compressor can shot out 4-7 units fan blower, also computerise system to adjust the air conditioner from 1 by 1 or used multi fan blower, can be ceiling , dustless , wall mounted

I suggest you walk in to Dakin office and ask for professional help up, if not we here only prefer you getting single split unit for every single room.

Could you mind to find out Mitsubishi electric inverter units.

That is good brand and very quietest operation and much energy saving.

Like your living room has already using 2.5hp and 5 more room needed 1hp or 1.5hp that is variable size from your room.. Nowaday there already support 3-phase wire should not be a problem for overload issue

If it working why change? Use until not working change. Even change to the most saving Ac won' give you the saving of buying new 8ACs.

Can compete with York? Eventhough I know York=Daikin=Acson. So after I 'dive' in the topics quite a number of forumers here use Daikin

I actually not satisfied with the air conds that they provide,my Toshiba is still my choice actually. Is Carrier still going around in Malaysia cause I heard Toshiba=Carrier. Lets just say the last owner never service the air cond so the sets smells like hmmph

Haha that's right!

P/S:I only use the sets in living hall(start from afternoon till 10PM. I set to high temperature+ceiling fan at night),master bedroom(only 2 people,me and my 4 year old son,so maybe 10PM till 5:30AM and second bedroom(it depends, only my 15 year old brother there but he usually turn it off before going to school, approx 6:40AM). The others rarely use.
Weekends we have some family time in living hall like day sleeping(lol) so only 1 is turned on in the day whistling.gif

Basically I don't trust much on those filter system as you need to change it regularly, it just like our car's air filter.
Keep your room clean will be the best way.
You can get bad smell is because the room not clean.

[/quoteThat's why I only turn it on at night for my bedroom. Usually in a week only 3 day I turn it on for sleep. Plus I set the AC to blow cool air to ceiling,so no direct contact.

If really wanna enjoy the premium air quality can consider over Mitsubishi electric inverter when set 25-26c really feel won't too cold or too warm and part loan from 250w as minimum per hours only.

Can find out in 1st page here for more info

Is the air too dry that caused lung to be weaker.
Still natural air will be the best.
Now staying in Middle East, everyday air cond only, within 2 months I get flu twice doh.gif

Beware, 27°C will cause the air cond(non inverter type) to cut in/out too often, the capacitor will spoil faster than normal.

When you set 27c is still a freezer is either few of this possibility
- You afraid of cold
- your ac temperature sensor are faulty.

In Office, minimal we need 23, anything higher is so stuffy. Even at home in enclosed area.

If you run 27c too long, some old ac that long never service will have one kind of smell because the mold build up sometime and the mold become too "watery" That usually what happen to old non service ac.
