Brand new unit or old one?

If brand new please sharing the brand name, then we can try to solve it for u.

As long as it wouldn't be hand any oil stain..
If really then to be ask the installer come back for reinstall gas piping connected screw nut
*
2.5HP ME inverter, brand new
installed about 2 months plus

the floor got oil stain, reinstall gas piping as in redo whole piping from blower to condenser?
the installer refill gas and check the connected screw and ask me to observe it for a month

check again, if they already re-cut the cooper pipe and screw back on nut should be no problem, just monitor your aircond switch on 25C see still getting cold or not in day time.

like time my hitachi also have it issue, is sometime like gas pipe connector screw sometime unlock as well, then got minor gas leak.

just share for recent my aircond contractor installer job, they would cut-off on fan blower screw nuts connected, so they used welding direct from the cooper pipes in direct.

I ask them why do it option? they said welded don't have high pressure gas leak an issue.

but on compressor unit still using nut screw in.
the only R410a would be it happen in future due to gas leakage else.

Ask him for proof. R22 is phasing out but not 2015 in Malaysia. Many country still will use r22 and recycle the gas.

Go do your survey how many r22 compressors are still in the market. Ask Ac service company how many r22 they maintain.

Even a small country like Singapore will put dateline of 2040.

http://singapore-aircon-r410a.blogspot.com...3/cvxc.html?m=1

And BTW, you still can find r12 gas for car and still cheaper than R134a even it stop using in car build mid 90s onward. That's already 20 years.

how often you hear compressor die in R22 system? There is reason why they give 10 years warranty on compressor only. Only more in R410.

But very often to hear gas leak, if the workmanship doing in good job.

R410a gas actually not really expansive, the price had bring down, I hearth it from seller.

Anyway old and heavy load electricity, should be let it go and prefer newer.

Like my hitachi inverter R410a 1hp, internal PCB faulty and used for last 4 yrs only, recently just replace with ME easy clean & save my time for self maintenance work and greater cooling with low noise too.

The outdoor compressor and indoor unit hitachi dunno what i wanna be use, if replace indoor PCB they is working like new. brows.gif

If compressor died, then obvious option is changing the whole unit, need not to care whether the old air-cond is using R22 or R410 in the first place not.
It makes no different.... laugh.gif

Apart from inverter that using R410, I have not yet seeing non-inverter using R410, and non-inverter still selling well out there and widely available.

I don't know there is schedule when Malaysia is going to ban any sales of air-cond with R22, ask before with those selling electrical appliances company, no answer given.

i put it on auto mode, should work the same right?
the installer didn't cut the cooper pipe, just refill the gas and tighten the screw
i will monitor it for 1-2 week on continuous usage

but so far i try to use it on daytime once, mostly only on evening/night time
still cold and normal

Guys, may I know is normal aircon indoor unit will have any water dripping sound?

Reason I ask, is my Inverter Indoor unit can clearly hear the water dripping sound. Then I call the Service Centre since is under warranty, then the technician came and stick the foam on the water pan, it clearly reduce the water dripping sound. They say this is not defect, is just the design of the coil and pan is quite high, that why can hear the dripping sound.

But yesterday night I can hear the water dripping sound again, not very loud, but at the middle of the night, really can notice. rclxub.gif

May I know estimated cost for non-inverter 1hp outdoor fan not working ?

BTW, do anyone know any inverter or non-inverter 1hp aircond brand/model that cost below RM1k (without installation) that received 5 Star Energy Saving ?

Fan motor not working then call for Aircon service for replace the motor only, cost around 250 Max, also depend your brand.

Non inverter so far really given out, they won't improved any better specs into non-inverter again.
