No.
I don't think g2pro is based on shine 2 pcb.
You can open it up and see.
If they have led holes
try mount 1 and see.

Back then, I think I saw one review b4, they only got circuit and led holes for the wasd and cursors.

I not sure if new model changed it, but I suggest that will be highly unlikely.

You must be talking about this  smile.gif
http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=39219.0
This is a QA issue of the manufacturing. If the dppm is very low, not a concern to the manufacturing.

Just RMA it if certain key not functioning for common people. smile.gif
For mkb guru, they just fix this by resolder, just a small problem to them.
Still this i a very good mkb. biggrin.gif

Yes thats the one. So it looks like it was a combination of cheaper pcb with no through hole solder pad and poor alignment of the pcb with the metal plate. So it doesn't look like a QA thing. Got to consider that the alt key isn't frequently used as well.

Returns are always an ass and users typically expect mkb to last much longer than typical warranty periods. Soldering is only a small problem for people who like to tinker around and don't mind the loss of time. I think CM and other newer brands are probably facing teething issues.

so did you enjoy your mechkeyboard ? did you think that peoples reviews here have been jusitified or are we just full of shit. just curious what your opinion is  hmm.gif

always interesting to know what the new comer thinks.
PS: i use a ducky spacebar, and i don't have that problem. my model is a DK9008-G2 Tiger Limited Edition, with modified keycaps (but using the stock ducky spacebar which i love). oh and it's PBT.

90% of the time I have no idea what you guys are talking about. From a noobie perspective, one major feature that draws me to the Ducky Shine is its very cool LED patterns.

Coming from a wireless membrane keyboard, I am still getting use to the MKB keys which are taller. Using a MX Blue, every key I press gives me a satisfactory "click"!
However, the clicky sound does become inconvenient especially during my midnight Team Fortress 2 session, it annoys the hell out of my room mate ! laugh.gif

Just as I like customizing my own PC rig, I love the flexibility that MKB gives me. My future plan will include getting some of the cool keycaps I seen in this thread and other online MKB forums.
Thanks for spending time to answer my queries!

I face same issue with my old Shine, my first beloved mechanical keyboard. Mx brown, blue LED, who can forget? biggrin.gif Seems like Ducky have the spacebar issue until today but in very low percentage. I didn't have the chance to swap my keycaps last time as I'm not heavily poisoned like now.

I used to think it's ridiculous to spend more than RM 500 for a keyboard. Well, I still think it's ridiculous nowadays but screw that. I still regret for not getting hammer casing. Sigh. cry.gif
