Hi! Regarding the thumbs up from Selens, it is shorter compared to MT's. Will take some getting use to.
In the end, no doubt that MT's still the best!

you can follow canon page, make it short and simple with just a x series picture
or
follow nikon style and put some guide and introduction to x series
but i really think fujifilm is really a 'premium' camera, as i guess rarely people will take fujifilm x series as their first camera, users are mainly from 'heavy' DSLR family or got 'heavily' poison from friend using fujifilm..just suggesting

Theres one camera shop in KLCC, the one next to Canon if im not mistaken.
They have Artisan & Artis straps.
YL always like that..

Why not try other straps such as Gordy's or Kaza Deluxe
Made from leather and almost the same price or cheaper than A&A straps.

Woah really? That road use to be really congested at times so parking would be a problem. Would suggest people to take the LRT and walk a few minutes to reach.

guys. im in dilemma in choosing between em5 and xe1.

im prone to choose xe1 because of it's better colour reproduction.

but when thinking that it doesnt come with in body image stabilization, it demotivated me to buy xe1.im planning to use it with 35mm f2 lens. without ois.

is it really important to have ois? means long exposure shot will be blur.

any advice?

Though both are of different 'type' of cameras, I had a similar dilemma between EM5 and X100S. I chose the X100S in the end.

If image stabilization is a big deal for you, get the em5. It will pair well with the Pana-leica 25mm f1.4 lens. You can get pre-owned for both at a nice price.

If you are keen to go for XE-1/2 with the 35mm, do note that it is actually f1.4 (not f2 as u mentioned) - thus the lack of image stabilization during low light is compensated by the larger aperture. Or you can also get the 18-55 with built in OIS.

Why I chose the Fuji, aside from the stunning image reproduction is the manual control experience - the tactile feel when you fiddle around with the aperture ring, the shutter speed dial, as well as the exposure compensation dial. It gives me a sense of intuitive control.

Just my 2cents, hope it helps to give you a different perspective. My advice is to go try out both cameras and decide for yourself

fujifilm X-E2 user reporting

Well, I am using X-E2 + 35mm combo. Pretty good for casual shooting on the street, wedding dinner (again casual only) and close up portrait. The only problem for me now is on the RAW processing which LR wasn't able to demosaicing the x-trans raw nicely. Yet, there are many work around for it, just a bit tedious .

Bottom line, it really depends on what you plan to get from your camera. For me, it is all due to weight and lowlight (1 lens for travel). The 35mm f1.4 is around 2.5 stop faster than the 18-55 at 35 (f3.6), but the 18-55 has 2-3 IS stop to compensate. But then, you will lose out on shutter speed which may be important to avoid subject movement.

Therefore, it really depends on your shooting style and budget. But cost wise, getting the X-E2 + 18-55 combo will be lower as the lens itself is roughly 50% cheaper.

No worries. Well, for the RAW processing, LR wasn't able to demosaicing the x-trans raw as others bayer raw. In short, the direct RAW converted x-trans files are softer than the jpeg output and the color reproduction is also a little off. I am using LR5.3 RC which listed to support X-E2. This is a typical problem that faces by most of the Fuji X users. If you are not die hard fan of LR or RAW shooter, this is not an issue. But too add on, using Photo Ninja or Iridient (for Mac only) would be a better off in x-trans raw processing which you can get sharper image. When I have some free time, I will post some comparison on LR, PN and OCC files.

I am not sure if you have any experiences in photoshooting. It surely good to start of with kit lens, but no worries the 18-55 is not normal kit. I would say it is a high quality kit as compare to the 16-50. With the kit, you can try to use a fix focus range (i.e. 18mm, 23mm, 35mm or 55mm) to understand if you are comfortable on using either one of those range. Once confirm, then you can pull your trigger on getting one of those prime or the 55-200mm . So, go try it out before you make up your decision.

Honestly speaking, I was hoping if fuji will launch a 50-150 f2.8 OIS lens and not overly expensive. Then I can fully retire my canon gear .

Besides, if you are a DSLR user, you may need some time to get use to the EVF which personally I feel better on fuji X-E2 EVF as compared to EM-1 or Alpha 7. Not sure why, it is just the feeling ...


Oh, not sure if any sifus here were using the EF-42 flash. Was thinking how well is Fuji flash work as compare to canon. Was hoping to use that with the 55-200mm if I cannot hold of my GAS .

I shoot jpegs most of the time.

OIS is very important on shooting video....on shooting pic i think is not that essential....
35mm f2 you can set the minimum shutter around 1/125 sec...then auto ISO up to 6400....
i never have blurred shot on x100s with this settings....

You are very much welcome. Well, I would say it is a well known issue with LR and Adobe on handling x-trans raw and I don't think the issue will be fixed anytime soon. But it is not exactly a major issue if you don't mind to alter your raw processing workflow .

Again, if you are a mac users, iridient seems to be very good replacement for LR. For window, no choice has to go with Photo Ninja (RAW to TIFF) + LightRoom (TIFF to JPEG) or Capture1.

Really hope that Adobe can work with Fuji to improve LR and Photoshop ability on x-trans.

Compare x-a1 and x-m1, jpeg shooter should go for which one? Fuji malaysia is giving a 18mm prime lens for x-m1. Does the x-m1 worth the extra RM700-800 compare to x-a1?

For fuji camera, I think u can try at Menara axis there (fuji office). The fuji store at the entrance should have most of the model that u are looking for. As for EM-5, u can try at lowyat I guess or the olympus store in mid valey. It is pretty common since EM-1 came out .

Recent PC Fair, saw a lot of mirrorless shooter, guess soon mirrorless can take over DSLR for event shooting...
