I need to do tinting on a BMW 5 series. What's the price I should be expecting for Raytech, Vkool and 3M?

Can recommend a normal (cheaper) brand too? Or whichever store around KL.

is it true that every tint will somehow have minor dots / bubbles even for factory tint? as long as the bubbles are not too visible then they are not consider as issue?

is this 'bubble' consider 'big' enough? it seems something (dust) is trapped inside, when window is closed, it is blocked by sun visor so it will not be seen.

Yes you may get one or two specks of dust depending on how good the workmanship is.

The one in your picture is obvious as heck. Go complain to your tintshop. Sometimes they say need a couple of weeks for the tint to cure and so on but this one is way too obvious. You paid for a good work.

Tint is 50% tint film and 50% workmanship. Anyone can source the tint film, but the shop needs to install it properly for you.

yea, the one in the picture just discovered when rolled down window for wiping after car wash. didn't notice that cus it is blocked by sun visor when visited the tint shop earlier that day to show them minor bubbles around all windows. those small bubbles are not as obvious as that one and was told even they replace new one, it could have bubbles too as there is no perfect tint where dust and small particulars are in the air, as they could only try their best effort to reduce them.

5 series why mind going for a normal and cheaper tint?

Anyway, for 3M you can get the lowest end tint (ebony series if I'm not mistaken) for maybe an inch below 1k. For the highest end 3M Crystalline series probably looking at 2.6k, which I'm currently using and am pretty satisfied so far.

Raytech not cheap but heard very mixed reviews about it.

VKool mostly positive reviews and frequently famed as the best tint your money can buy.

i used raytech security tint on side window. One time my wife drove near a guy who was cutting the grass and a stone which flew on the car side window broke the mirror. The tint hold the broken mirror in place but I always thought a security tint can take much higher force before it breaks.

The lady at raytech said the tint is inside ma and the stone come from outside thats why it break maa. no warranty meh.

Inquired on 3M tint at a shop in KL, their shop sign board has 3M on it, but the shop is not listed on 3M website.

When I asked why, they said they're not official branch but they use the same 3M tint, but direct import. So tint warranty can only claim from their shop. The series is 3M crystalline, same as per website.

So yes or no go?

Is a fake 3M shop, they can claim its original 3M but it could be cheaper inferior Korean or China tint.

Common sense says if it's really original 3M, it will be listed on 3M website, 3M being an international brand, will definitely jaga its reputation and control the supply of 3M tint into Malaysia.

Furthermore if the shop closes down , you can't claim warranty at all.

Avoid the shop.
