Hi guys,

I'm taking delivery of my 2018 F30 3 series next week, have a budget of 1.5k - 2k for tinting. Not brand conscious, so doesn't have to be top brand. Hoping to get the back row tinted with lower VLT as my wife & baby will be seated at the back most of the time. Any recommendation? You may also PM me.

Edit: prefer the location to be around Subang Jaya but as long it's in Klang Valley I'm fine.

Sifus, my SA informed that he had a good price for 1k only for 3m in house firm. Is it a good tint? Need help. Need to finalised it by today. Haha
*
RM1k most likely it's 3M Ebony. The spec is pretty low and heat ejection is very basic.

Hi, crystalline vs Ebony 40 does it worth the upgrade?

Also is all car 40 tint dark? Can see people inside?
*
My car is on CR40 for 4 sides & rear. On sunny days can vaguely see the people in the car while at night it's almost too dark to see in.

I need to do tinting on a BMW 5 series. What's the price I should be expecting for Raytech, Vkool and 3M?

Can recommend a normal (cheaper) brand too? Or whichever store around KL.
*
5 series why mind going for a normal and cheaper tint?

Anyway, for 3M you can get the lowest end tint (ebony series if I'm not mistaken) for maybe an inch below 1k. For the highest end 3M Crystalline series probably looking at 2.6k, which I'm currently using and am pretty satisfied so far.

Raytech not cheap but heard very mixed reviews about it.

VKool mostly positive reviews and frequently famed as the best tint your money can buy.

Hi. Can anyone recommend me good tint/spec

Car: Honda City
Budget: RM2,000 - RM2,500 (Prefer to keep it at RM2,000 or below)
Requirement: Good heat rejection to keep the car cool. Not into security tint, for me, money better goes to good heat rejection tint compared to security tint if the heat rejection compromise. A bit darker compared to JPJ spec but not too dark that can compromise driving visibility at night. Don't mind mix brand for the front, side, & rear as long as the tint can keep the car cold.
*
Huper Optik ceramic series sounds like a good option for you

I want to seek advise on car tint.

We know that car tint has various grades, from 200 to a few thousand.

I have an old car, the previous tint now needs re-do. But I don't want to spend too much money on it.

If just for the wind screen, would around rm300 get a reasonable good tint ? Seller says can get 50% irr rejection.
*
300 should be able to get a reasonably good spec tint but can't comment the same for it's longevity.

Seen many ads popping up on my facebook with Tints starting from 199.

3m crystalline series was quoted for rm 3600. Is that reasonable?

Any good tint shop at seremban area for heat reduction?
*
What car? That's expensive.

I did my 3M tint in Kepong but was sharing a coupon with friend so got it cheaper.

Walk-in price for my car for full Crystalline + Scotch Shield smash proof is about RM2.8k. F30 btw.

With scotchshield or not?

The shop I went to quoted my F30 3 series RM2,700 for front WS CR70 and the rest CR40 with scotchshield, although I got a really good deal for RM2K due to promo. Yours should be cheaper in my opinion.

Side note, make sure it's an official 3M shop, can check from their website.

What if we use tint driver & passenger seat higher VLT than JPJ standards?

Are they obligate to take action, summon/tear our tinted?
*
They'll issue you a compound and you're required to send your car for inspection. And if it did not pass, have to tear it down and pay a fine

I just bought a new car and the salesperson gave free 3M ebony 40 tinted film. When I got back I found one of the window with '3M' on it. It looks funny. Is it normal? Or I should get it change under warranty?

[attachmentid=10370944]
*
It's normal. I noticed it during installation and asked the guy to removed it. They'll just wipe it off, but not sure if they use alcohol or what.

Hi guys, what is approximate price for savvy, front screen and side front and behind, without back screen, low and mid specs, for known brands.
*
3M Ebony. Should be around 1k or less. Top brand but the Ebony series spec is entry level

My whole car is tinted with ebony 40. It is given by the salesperson. If jpj check then sure kena, right?
*
Even the front wind screen and front side?

Well to be fair most cars on the road today would not pass if the car was sent in for inspection. Manufacturers claim 70% VLT but our front WS already has a certain percentage of VLT reduction so after applying the supposedly road legal 70% VLT tint on the front WS would bring the total VLT down to below 70 and you'd be ordered to tear it off and pay a fine lol.

Just that 70% VLT may have lesser chance of getting issued a notice to send in for inspection compared to 40% VLT which is very obvious illegal.

Why?
Low end tints really that bad?
*
If you read through most of the reviews about low end tints, the issue usually is about deterioration. The first year or so it's fine but the heat seeps into your cabin real quick after that.

Reputable brands fare better in this section.
