i used raytech security tint on side window. One time my wife drove near a guy who was cutting the grass and a stone which flew on the car side window broke the mirror. The tint hold the broken mirror in place but I always thought a security tint can take much higher force before it breaks.

The lady at raytech said the tint is inside ma and the stone come from outside thats why it break maa. no warranty meh.

May I ask the location of the road where your car was stopped by JPJ and issued the summons? Touch wood, I haven't seen a "tint operation" by JPJ for the past 10 years if not more. If my car was stopped, it will likely fail the VLT test as well unless the tint has deteriorated throughout the years and the VLT changed from 59% to 70%, if that's possible.

I'm not sure if it's possible that we request the officer to tear or remove the out-of-spec tint on the spot instead of issuing the summons.

I'm curious too, how much does the saman cost?
