If mine on 280x and hd7870 and the same computer, will it cause problems on cgminer?

i thought using cgminer will able to run all thread ? i got 3 card running for all my miner

different thread needs different instance, it's cgminer limitation. if all cards using same thread, can use 1 instance only. As an example, if u have 7950 and 7970, u need to use 2 instance:

cgminer instance 1 : disable 7950, gpu thread 2, thread concurrency 8192
cgminer instance 2 : disable 7970, gpu thread 1, thread concurrency 16384

it's not recommended running this way as there are reports of instability. so it's better to separate the cards into different rigs.

I also have no idea what is going on.. I only mined it to learn because bitcoin was too hard already..

Mining is all about the hashing speed of the graphics card. It must be AMD Radeon cards somemore (Nvidia cards are slow in OpenCL tasks which the mining software uses)

And your GPU the 290X is the fastest single GPU card to mine scrypt based cryptocurrency, not the best price/performance ratio but since you got it you can put it to work straight away.

You can follow this guide to mine Litecoins, but after you got familiar with it you can try and mine other cryptocurrencies like dogecoins. Remember to mine scrypt based cryptocurrency only and not SHA256 based (i.e Bitcoin).

For your 290X, use cgminer, don't download the newest version because it dropped scrypt mining support. Get something like ver 3.1 to 3.7

Settings for cgminer is very tricky, your 290X can go up to 850kh/s but hard to get this rate without tinkering around alot, few tips:
1) Make sure to put suitable thread concurrency for your GPU
2) Overclocking doesn't mean you'll get higher hashrate, most of the time it'll go DOWN! Exact GPU clockspeed and Memory clockspeed is important. My HD7870 gets max rate at 934 core 1250 memory (400kh/s), if at stock 1000 core 1200 mem it's 300kh/s omg!
3) Undervolt your GPU, it'll be running 24 hours a day and better to undervolt and save some electric bills as well as cooler GPU temp.

If you want more hashrate in the future, add more cards lol
