QUOTE(klthor @ Jan 13 2017, 04:35 PM) there are limited option to buy and sell now after the crack down. other than xbit, i think thers another 1 but i couldnt remember the name... the fees are expensive so i stop using it. i remember some1 mention here be4, its a singapore company. Exactly, the volume in XBit Asia is just too low, there's just too large of a spread between buy and sell.as for scammer etc etc, that is why i rather do it on exchange. no headache later on, wouldnt want to risk few k just to save a couple ringgit. im promoting xbit because i felt that if more ppl going there and the volume is higher. the price would be more stable compare to now, seller can gain alot or loss alot same goes to buyer.... really hate xbit asia, so low volume. 200usd / btc ? that was quite long ago haha... but with current btc dive, i suppose it might touch 500 usd again... bad for me cis.... If more and more people start using it and adding more liquidity, prices will surely stabilise. |

QUOTE(Nocomment25 @ Jan 13 2017, 11:55 PM) Hey guys, just bumped into this tread as I have been a long time i did not check out this tread. I've not used Coinhako before......it can do deposits and withdrawals in RM?for those who are not sure how to buy bitcoin in malaysia, there is a singapore company called coinhako. Go and check it out as most of the exchange here in malaysia being shut down ( being blocked to be precise ) ie. Bitx. Coinbiz etc .. For those who are new, avoid at all cost trying to buy from individual unless they are well known. Buy it from the exchange that I just mentioned. U will be safe. If u are an avid collector, better get an external wallet to be safe. Can't explain everything here in one go..anyone here who are serious about hedging their saving from depreciating RM, bitcoin is something u can seriously consider. Drop me some questions, I will try help as much as I can.. Btw, I'm not claiming to be expert here, I'm sure some of us here has more experience than me hence, I'm just sharing so that everyone should know more about bitcoin. Cheers! Their website doesn't seem to have much info on that. By the way, which hardware wallet are you using? |

Go to coinhako for registration. It will take u up to 30 mins to do just that.. some may say abit too much but for security reason I think is ok la..
As for me, if u have a reasonable amount of BTC, is advisable to spread your coins in different wallets. Try coinbase too.. is not bad if u tread it as your wallet. For buying I use coinhako at this moment. For external wallet I do not recommend anything yet as I'm still in trial & error mode so to say.. if u really insist, I currently using an external wallet call coolwallet. It claim to be the most secure in the world. . Google it up ok.. |

Yup. Coinhako do accept RM & withdrawals. Ofcos nothing is free .. every transaction comes with some fee attached.
For my opinion, better hurry up to fund your wallet as some day coinhako will end up like other exchanges .. kena block.. when that time comes, we are all screwed.. |

Actually I didn't mind either, just that I could get CoolWallet within 2 days, while I had to wait for international shipping for Trezor, and I didn't want to wait. |

QUOTE(Nocomment25 @ Jan 14 2017, 04:07 PM) Mind to share out why you choose bitcoin instead other asset class? I think most of the ppl would like to know too.. I am already involved in funds and stocks, this is just another asset class that I am diversifying into.Btw, I also same with u, consistently accumulating.. not sure if I share the same vision with u.. when did u start? Since I've sold all my investments in gold, I needed somewhere to put my money, preferably somewhere sheltered from Malaysian politics. Also, as I am working overseas, I am constantly looking into ways to minimise the fees I pay for transferring money back to Malaysia. Bitcoin seems to fit all those criteria. To be honest, I have only started recently, when the price was around USD800. I have been reading about cryptocurrencies for a while actually, but since I do not invest in anything that I do not understand, so it's taken me a while to take the plunge. I'm a very cautious (read: kiasi) person, so I was waiting for quite a while to see the general trend and development of bitcoin and blockchain technology, before I made the decision to put my money in it. Now, I am convinced that blockchain will be a game-changer technology that is here to stay. I'd even go so far as to say that cryptocurrencies to current old-school fiat currencies, are similar to the changing tide when the internet and emails were just introduced. Nobody in the 1980's could even envision that one day we would all be sending free "mails" that could be received by anyone at any location in the world, absolutely free of charge. I am convinced that bitcoin will do something similar to the current financial world. |

Hello everyone,
Thx bro wengherng for your write up, is funny to see that u also dump gold and goes right into bitcoin. Though now it may be a good time to reinvest in gold due to the current price, I'm still very doubtful about gold mainly is because is hard to carry around, security etc.. One more major thing is gold cannot be use as a every day purchases. Imagine going to the market and buy some stuff using gold. Is almost impossible. ( for those who say can, then show me how I would like to know! ) I'm not hating gold but is not feasible at this 21st century when speed can be in micro seconds. Wengherng mentioned about emails and the Internet that changed the world. How do this relate to bitcoin? well, some may already know what I'm going to talk here, but here is the major one thing bitcoin wins hands down over gold is.. in my opinion.. Is bitcoin will ever available is 21mil coins. Currently is at 16mil coins and is getting harder to mine.( ask the solo miners and they will tell u ). Gold in other hand has paper gold.. meaning it actually has more gold in the world to actually has in physical. . That is call paper gold beybeh.. when the supply can be printed out and can be manipulated, then is easy for the powerful people to control the supply hence the price will suffer.. my opinion is, gold is no more longer a store of value ever since this happen including gold ETF.. All the gold horders, bugs out there pls don't hate me ok.. I'm telling the truth only and purely my own opinion. . This post has been edited by Nocomment25: Jan 15 2017, 01:25 PM |

I still think it is here to stay forever, just that it doesn't suit my investment style. |

For those who want to sell/buy bitcoins in Malaysia
QUOTE(klthor @ Jan 17 2017, 11:05 AM) you sure? i have hard time to sell off my BTC after the likes of coinbox and bitx locked by banks. if you have a good place to buy/sell btc, kindly contribute your knowledge in BTC thread. im sure tons of them will thank you. to me BTC is not as liquid as it claims, and its not as low fees as its claim. you lose a bit of btc as 'fuel' while transferring, and you lose 1% when buying and 1% when selling and abit more while withdrawing. Buying bitcoin from Malaysia. https://wirexapp.com/buy-bitcoins/malaysia/...k-transfer.html Selling bitcoins in Malaysia https://wirexapp.com/send-money/malaysia/desktop.html It's not the best rate/exchange but it's the easiest for Malaysians. |
