BitX has been around since November 2014 and currently has the highest bitcoin liquidity in Malaysia.

How does it compare to bitfinex? Cause I see that we are getting less money worth if we use bitx.co

Bitfinex is exchange serive.. not wallet right?
*
Yup. Exchange rate look more favourable than bitx.co However you will have to wire the money back to malaysia. I am using blockchain.info for wallet. All my bitcoin related stuff do not incur any expenses (I dont pay for bitcoins)

what do you mean less money?

Bitfinex is based in Hong Kong, not Malaysia.
*
Check out the exchange rate + fees. Bitfinex is cheaper. But I not very sure how does it stack up when we compare both of them (which one is more value for money)

are89, thanks for using BitX and yes the fees are at

1% vs 0.1%. That's very high fees. Are you the owner of bitx.co?

What is this bitcoin about? I accept the concept of transferring money p2p, but I don't see the way how it work by mining coins.
It means someone, using a software, running on it's own computer, and it will generate coin which can transfer back into cash? or use it to buy something else? I don't get it.
*
Yes. You run a software which attempt to solve some mathematics formula. If successful, you will get some bitcoins. Bitcoins can be used to exchange for cash, buy software license, simply use for forex trading. Is just digital currency not controlled by any government. Goverment can simply print money when needed. However bitcoin have limit. Once that limit is reach, there wil be no more bitcoin in production.

QUOTE(jack2 @ Jun 21 2016, 01:02 PM)
what is the purpose of using bitcoin?
*
Just a digital currency not controlled by any government (the price is fully dependent on market demand), untrackable (no paper trail) if you know how to use it. For those corporate environment, if they got infected with ransomware which will encrypt up all their files + documents, they can get it back by paying the ransom in bitcoins.

Hi all,
i would like to purchase bit coins,
but i do not know well bout the transaction and how its work.
If i buy bitcoins in malaysia, izit the bit coins could be transfer to 3rd party in China ?
How its work ? My china fren he wants to sell his bit coins in china , izit possible ?
He want to withdraw cash in china.
*
It can be transferred to anyone in the world. All you need is the specific wallet address. Your wallet > friend's wallet > local/international bitcoin exchange > wire the money or just transfer to local account if there's a local bitcoin exchange around. Hope it's clear.

How to set up these wallets in Msia and China? Are the wallets subject to China exchange controls?

Then after getting wallet, for example, just buy BC from machine in Bangsar? If receive one, how to convert to Rm?
*
Not really. The wallets are subject to the RMB/XTC (bitcoin) exchange rate
That only works if there is a bitcoin machine in Malaysia (which we don't have yet). You can ask for wire to your bank account in Malaysia (it will get converted by whatever bank you choose). Alternatively, you can use
https://www.bitx.co/
However if you compare the rates of international exchange vs bitx.co, the international exchange offers lower exchange for XTC/USD.
Eg
QUOTE
1XTC > USD = USD640.95 = RM2,577.12 (using bitfinex.com for XTC/USD,  xe.com for USD/RM)
1 XTC > MYR = RM2,622 (using bitx.co)

As you can see, by using bitx.co, you stand to lose out alot despite it's convenient (can directly withdraw from Malaysia banks). The above eg was checked few seconds apart.

However, I have yet to transfer any real money as my BTC values are just USD3 (not worth transferring). I will be a customer to whoever give me best rates for my BTC.

The wallet I recommend is blockchain.info

For those who want to sell/buy bitcoins in Malaysia

QUOTE(klthor @ Jan 17 2017, 11:05 AM)
you sure? i have hard time to sell off my BTC after the likes of coinbox and bitx locked by banks. if you have a good place to buy/sell btc, kindly contribute your knowledge in BTC thread. im sure tons of them will thank you. to me BTC is not as liquid as it claims, and its not as low fees as its claim. you lose a bit of btc as 'fuel' while transferring, and you lose 1% when buying and 1% when selling and abit more while withdrawing.

It's not the best rate/exchange but it's the easiest for Malaysians.
