Hey guys, just bumped into this tread as I have been a long time i did not check out this tread.
for those who are not sure how to buy bitcoin in malaysia, there is a singapore company called coinhako. Go and check it out as most of the exchange here in malaysia being shut down ( being blocked to be precise ) ie. Bitx. Coinbiz etc ..
For those who are new, avoid at all cost trying to buy from individual unless they are well known. Buy it from the exchange that I just mentioned. U will be safe.
If u are an avid collector, better get an external wallet to be safe. Can't explain everything here in one go..anyone here who are serious about hedging their saving from depreciating RM, bitcoin is something u can seriously consider. Drop me some questions, I will try help as much as I can..
Btw, I'm not claiming to be expert here, I'm sure some of us here has more experience than me hence, I'm just sharing so that everyone should know more about bitcoin.
Cheers!

Go to coinhako for registration. It will take u up to 30 mins to do just that.. some may say abit too much but for security reason I think is ok la.. As for me, if u have a reasonable amount of BTC, is advisable to spread your coins in different wallets. Try coinbase too.. is not bad if u tread it as your wallet. For buying I use coinhako at this moment.
For external wallet I do not recommend anything yet as I'm still in trial & error mode so to say.. if u really insist, I currently using an external wallet call coolwallet. It claim to be the most secure in the world. . Google it up ok..

Yup. Coinhako do accept RM & withdrawals. Ofcos nothing is free .. every transaction comes with some fee attached.
For my opinion, better hurry up to fund your wallet as some day coinhako will end up like other exchanges .. kena block.. when that time comes, we are all screwed..

QUOTE(wengherng @ Jan 14 2017, 03:02 PM) Actually I am also using coolwallet at the moment. A bit expensive, but I don't really bother about the extra USD20 over the long term. I was just asking you out of curiosity. Extra usd 20? I don't understand. . Is cool rite? Can Bluetooth. .

QUOTE(wengherng @ Jan 14 2017, 03:06 PM) Since I am into long term investing and just accumulating at the moment, all my coins are in cold storage, I practically keep none in online wallets. But yes, for those who trade, spreading your stash into multiple wallets is a prudent move. Mind to share out why you choose bitcoin instead other asset class? I think most of the ppl would like to know too.. Btw, I also same with u, consistently accumulating.. not sure if I share the same vision with u.. when did u start?

Hello everyone,
Thx bro wengherng for your write up, is funny to see that u also dump gold and goes right into bitcoin. Though now it may be a good time to reinvest in gold due to the current price, I'm still very doubtful about gold mainly is because is hard to carry around, security etc.. One more major thing is gold cannot be use as a every day purchases. Imagine going to the market and buy some stuff using gold. Is almost impossible. ( for those who say can, then show me how I would like to know! )
I'm not hating gold but is not feasible at this 21st century when speed can be in micro seconds. Wengherng mentioned about emails and the Internet that changed the world.
How do this relate to bitcoin? well, some may already know what I'm going to talk here, but here is the major one thing bitcoin wins hands down over gold is.. in my opinion.. Is bitcoin will ever available is 21mil coins. Currently is at 16mil coins and is getting harder to mine.( ask the solo miners and they will tell u ). Gold in other hand has paper gold.. meaning it actually has more gold in the world to actually has in physical. . That is call paper gold beybeh.. when the supply can be printed out and can be manipulated, then is easy for the powerful people to control the supply hence the price will suffer.. my opinion is, gold is no more longer a store of value ever since this happen including gold ETF..
All the gold horders, bugs out there pls don't hate me ok.. I'm telling the truth only and purely my own opinion. .

BTC price is up and up again.. for newbies out there, get the knowledge first. Start small and slowly buy more when u know the potential of bitcoin. Start the ball rolling and your interest will follow.. bro wengherng is a pro.. let's us all ask him loads of questions.. make him mad..

Hi all,
I'm quite amazed by the level of knowledge and level of maturity we have here.. really take me by surprise, I really thought bitcoin in malaysia is still 'ais age' though still many are yet to know.
In my personal opinion.. I think we are getting abit paranoia about cold storage. I think if we plan to buy BTC in big numbers like our forummers taikors here then yes.. please go ahead and get a hardware wallet.. Is a must!! Get yourself protected..
For those who are starting out and still testing water, leave the cold storage aside first.. I mean if u have 0.001BTC, what cold storage u r talking about!!
If u start to accumulate around 1-2BTC then yes.. time to think like a pro and guard it as much as u can..
Hope it helps!

Haha.. I totally agree with wengherng, is just inner game. Though I would like to note that bitcoin now is more like hoarding than using it for day to day transactions. I hope someday there is still bitcoin around.. I really wonder. 21mil in circulation is not really allot tho.. is just take a size of Malaysia with 1BTC each to freeze all bitcoin circulation.. BTW, I would like to accumulate more if the price go down.. just dreaming only la.. This post has been edited by Nocomment25: Feb 21 2017, 04:16 PM Attached thumbnail(s)
