The agent's applying to UCAS for me. Now waiting for final sem results from private college, dip.

for mine deposit is paid upon receipt of conditional offer letter. full payment must be made on enrolment unless eligible and opted for instalment scheme

well, it's normal. As there's quite a lot student will attempt obtain a student visa but work in restaurants to earn money. So to prevent this, university will force student to pay £1k or £3k as deposit. this is to ensure you continue study in the university. Usually home office will only approve student visa when the university confirm you are enroll.

deposit is unusual unless you are coming for twinning program or some colleges.

enrolment usually will not take place until the academic year has started, the so called enrolment/fresher week.

the immigration usually will grant the visa as long as you have the acceptance letter from the uni and supporting documents (e.g. amount of money in bank, accommodation settlement etc).

not necessary if you have submitted all the right documents. interview is usually required when they are in doubt.

The £1k deposit requirement I heard will be made compulsory by end of this year. This is a new measure to prevent people from jumping planes to work illegally in the country.

Mind asking, why the need to do credit transfer from Sheffield Uni to Australian Universities?
Expensive?

Life in Australia isn't as easy as before compared to 10 years ago in the 90s.Be prepared to spend RM350-400k(almost 1/2 million) for an full engineering degree course. It should even cost more in the UK and the distance is another disadvantage.

Engineering courses in Australia is extremely tough. They follow more of the US+Western European standards which do away with the 4 point CGPA which is used in the UK.In Australia, the GPA system uses a 7 point one instead.

My bad, wasn;t clear enough, i meant like from Sheffield to Cardiff or Imperial.Something like that.
I had a last some complications with UCAS so i didn;t take the offers i got, instead i got into Sheffield University by meeting up with their REPS. So just wondering if its possible i still get to study in another university in the future.

Not all the way to australlia definately.. Melbourne is generally more expensive since i;m planning to do all the way to Meng

i'm not exactly sure how the credit transfers are managed here, but i'm pretty sure u could transfer from one university to the other. how much u could transfer is another issue. just dont expect 100%.

Not that i knew about this beforehand, but i bumped into them by chance and found out about this.

Transferring to Imperial, London or some university closer to the city will increase your cost much further.

Since you ask about transferring credits from UK to Australia, do not expect anything less than 2 years more with the Australian University of your choice.Even if you're a final year bachelor degree student in the UK, they won't allow unit per unit transfer. It makes sense for any university not to allow this because students would just transfer as they like.

If the universities are from the same country then things will be a bit different because they have similar systems.

It is much easier to transfer credits from let's say Uni A to Uni B both based in Australia.
