it's possible. if the nvidia gpu has problem, nvidia control panel shouldn't appear already.

guys, i'm on alienware 14 and my wifi connection keeps dropping intermittenly...mostly on a 30 mins routine.

i tried updating my driver via dell's support page..to which my wifi card is killer type..

and it still is happening.....

any idea what i should do? my other devices dont get their connection drop that often.. only my alienware.

also, it doesnt connect back after it drops..which is extremely annoying.. even though i ticked the box connect automatically.

the latest for 7260.ac is 17.05. just follow this to get the updates. stasio is doing a good job keeping us updated biggrin.gif https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/673928

don't forget to grab the bt software too.

oh you saw that haha! the 780m upgrade should be very simple to you. i did it in the non-3d model so there were some additional steps. (more on that later) just did a 3dmark run and scored 5175 in fire strike at stock clocks, http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/3452523

oscar is a reliable seller smile.gif

So how much difference do you feel in terms of 680M vs 780M?

from 680m to 780m, it's not a night-and-day difference. (the main reason being the version gap is too close to each other) the best candidates of the 780m upgrade are actually those with anything lower than 680m.

if you really wanna feel something, the safer bet is 980m and up.

maxwell eh tongue.gif. I kinda agree. I was thinking on other hand that trading in 680 and topping up 1k is not worth it. Not that Oscars offer was bad but it's just Nvidia trying to push new product every year causing price fluctuations. Maxwell it is then smile.gif.

yeah like i said, for those who still have lower-end cards (r4, 17, 18), they can get this top card at a much cheaper price now. (since it will take until next year or more for 980mq to come out, and another year or two for the price to drop if you're looking for good deals. it's a damn long wait :/)

oscar did warn me many times about the slight performance increase compared to 680m. however i was very curious about how r4 cope with a 780m so i just did it. (to me it's a good deal anyway)

.. and it turned out r4 and 780m have no issue working together. (throttling issues of 780m in new aw, which were already fixed by new bios updates; also i have read that 780m's power draw is higher than 680m, i.e. 122w vs. 100w. with so many things inside in my r4 i was a bit curious) last night i have a long session of gaming (bf4). the new card is running at full speed, without any sign of throttling (logged with gpu-z), at 76c max under load.

as usual, r4's cooling system is so cool smile.gif

one thing i worry is, nvidia will differ in 2 batches, 1st batch with Kepler, 2nd batch with Maxwell.
its just like how they did with the GT6xxM series.
