hey guys, did anyone faced this kind of problems in your alienware m14x ?

For example when I would launch watchdogs, SC2, or war thunder, I would have about 60 fps while playing at medium but suddenly, i booted up my laptop yesterday, the FPS would drop drastically to about 30~40 fps. and sometimes 20 fps or below rclxub.gif
I also noticed that whenever I would have high fps the fan on my M14x would spin fast and produce a noticeable loud sound (like the fan operating on a desktop) and now, the fan just spinning like its walking in the park! and did not even produce a noticeable loud sound.... hmm.gif

Also prior to this post I have also tried several methods such as adjusting the settings on Nvidia.( Adjusting the 3D setting on Nvidia to suit the best performance), adjusting the battery to high performance, but nothing change.....

i need help now... anyone with this experience can help me? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

just to add on, my m14x temp while gaming would normally shift between 40~75 MAX and now it only shift between 40~61 or 59 MAX

my m14x spec,
GeForce GT 650M
i7-3630QM
8gb
driver ver. 337.88

probably overheating issue, so the system throttle down

i dont think my computer is over heating as the temp fluctuate from 40~70 or at out-door i would getting 80 but now it just maintaining at 40~60 MAX! and the fps is not up to as it should performed hmm.gif
and i do believe that my temp is a healthy temp no? all temp are recorded not under air-cond condition

is it because the gpu has switched from 650m to igpu?
*
if it yes, than do you know how to switch it back?

if that's the case, right click on desktop,  go to the nvidia control panel,  click on manage 3d, then global there change to high performance nvidia card rather than auto

i already have done that and its still the same cry.gif

i think putochip123 has already given you the right way to do that. since it didn't work, can you right click on the games' exe and select 'run it with nvidia gpu'?

edit: also, is your laptop plugged in to the power source?
*
i have tryied what he say and still the same results and about click on the games' exe and select 'run it with nvidia gpu'....... because on putochip123 settings, everything is on nvidia GPU already and yes iam plug in (not using battery) as i know using battery while gamming will sometimes shutdown the PC anytime like SNAP!

oh. what did you do previously, i.e. before you shut down your laptop? can you recall?

yeah never play games while the laptop is on battery only.
