hi guys, test driven a 3 yrs used forte 2.0 today. when idle at gear 1, the steering got vibration.
if put on neutral gear, less vibration, but still can feel.

is this normal?

EX is drive by cable or drive by wire? Drive by cable go tighten the cable. Drive by wire can add item like potent booster.

hmm, not sure what do you mean by cable or wire though. As far as im concerned, EX is the one which needs key to ignite the engine? smile.gif

Drive by wire or cable is how the pedal control the accelerator. I do not know EX is using which one. Maybe you can go do more research.

Possible reasons for the above might be:
1) Dirty/fouled spark plug(s) that need cleaning/replacing. (Broken and/or worn valve stem seals can cause the respective spark plugs to foul).
2) Burnt valve(s)...(from age, too high of a combustion temperature, inaccurate timing, or using unleaded in an older auto that requires leaded gasoline)
3) Blown head gasket. (Coolant entering cylinder(s) can cause non-combustion at low RPM, and not at higher RPM or non-combustion is not noticeable at higher RPM)
4) Cracked cylinder head. (Missing caused by same process as in #3 above except through passage of the head crack).
5) Cracked piston. (More unlikely).

Wow! The list of causes which you have listed are all worse case scenarios.
I personally don't think that what the asker is asking/saying is due to such serious damage(s).

I guess the first thing to ask should be, "What do u mean by vibration? Is it really obvious vibrations or is it vibration due to an idling engine?

thank you so much for your feedback. It is an obvious vibration. When I drove my own old car, I dont even feel annoyed with the vibration

the 5 possible reasons scares me, sounded like real serious faults
