hi guys, test driven a 3 yrs used forte 2.0 today. when idle at gear 1, the steering got vibration.
if put on neutral gear, less vibration, but still can feel.

is this normal?
*
not normal at all.. mine is 4 years and will be 5 by the end of the year. mild to almost no vibrations at all in N or 1st gear.

EX  is drive by cable or drive by wire? Drive by cable go tighten the cable. Drive by wire can add item like potent booster.

EX is 1.6 hence Gamma engine = drive by cable~

Any established engine oil in the market…
For ATF, u can buy directly frm SC
Sometime they use big tong dram, otherwise 1 ltr bottle
Last I went to KD SC, they use petronas atfxp for 4spd
1.  If under allianz, it's true
2.  No need
Refer mudah.my
Any car makers in the world, when come to SC for sure pricey one…
As alternative, go kia spare part segambut to find cheaper one…

i'm in penang lol, cannot go to segambut tongue.gif

Hi everyone,

I didn't realise this forum is kinda a club page till now lol...was an owner of a 2nd hand forte since January this year smile.gif

Just would like to ask a question:
One of my headlight bulb has fused (H7), and am wondering which bulb to get...i called up 2 SC, one didn't know what bulb they use o.O, while the other told me there is a standard bulb for RM35, or a Osram Nightbreaker for RM110 (or RM150 i forgot) for a pair..

Which one should I get installed? No labour cost will be charged..

I've also noticed ppl selling philips x-treme vision for RM150 and osram nightbreakers for RM110..

Now the final question is...should i use philips or osram if i don't want the standard bulb? thanks haha
*
either one is fine, just don't use the auto headlamps often else within 2 mths confirmed kantoi.. was using HID earlier so didn't bother much and it works fine till today..removed it coz of the stupid ops this ops that to prevent headache for timebeing

haha thanks for the input...i never actually tried auto headlamps before so not sure how it works haha

in the end i went to kia sc to get it changed before the replies came since they have 10% off now for world cup promotion...not high end bulbs though but oh well peace of mind...will change myself next time though to save labour cost :/
*
It's basically for lazy people or people who always forget to switch on/off their headlights. The sensor is the round button on top of ur dashboard, when the light level of ur surrounding gets dark enough to meet the programmed sensor input, it will trigger the headlamps to turn on by itself. Works very well with HID but not so with halogen bulbs coz too sensitive adi the settings. Imagine pass by shady areas where there are trees, it turns on, after that off, after that on again, after that off. Sure kantoi, hahaha anyways enjoy your ride.

thanks for the info..i see i saw this thing on the dashboard but didn't know it was the sensor lol

anyway, could i ask you a question as you may know the answer...
with all the illegal fancy plates on the street, i'm not sure if mine is as the previous owner had this installed at the back (the front is the normal plate since she broke it)...

do you think this is compatible? i can't find any decent information online or even on the jpj website as they only give the measurements..i went to jpj near my place and they told me to go to the wangsa maju branch to check instead sleep.gif" they don't even know themselves...

P/S: sorry i zoomed in to show the font clearer
*
i think ur fonts already spoke for itself..they said somehow the only legal ones are the 'mahjong' type of fonts...urs, i would deem they want to force you to pay also u can't say anything ...its always them who calls the shots...and yes, forgot to add on, look how close the letters are next to each other...

you have 2 choices

1) just play dumb until u get flagged down then start acting innocent and promise you will take it off by telling them oh, i just bought over this car actually, i will get it changed immediately as i didn't know its illegal (your chances are 50/50 laugh.gif )

2) quickly go change to the ugly font types that you can see on most forte's otr.

they can find fault with you no matter what...as long as your tints are not super dark, or bodykits scream 'LOOK AT ME I'M SO HAWT' probably they will let you off the hook, but as far as your picture shows, its not the usual type of letterings used for sure sweat.gif

alright thanks haha...
yeah wana get it changed asap cause i don't even know what font is this...
as far as I think Arial Bold is accepted but i don't know mine is...just confirmed it's not from your reply

now need to find for someone who sells it..not even sure if 3D ones are accepted although they do look kinda cool  sweat.gif

thanks again smile.gif

most welcome, my previous car i had the metal ones...looks nice, but..haha u know the rest of the story when caught... so now i'm completely stock standard.... cheers icon_idea.gif

hahaha i just read this...

my car isn't super hawt lol...the tints was removed when she sent to puspakom and i never intended to put up any till lately cz my face got burnt from driving long distance lol...but am waiting till they got a proper guideline with the tints..

in msia it's ridiculous cause there are so many different plate makers...i lived overseas for sometime and the plates are standard..even the personalised plates (the ones u get to combine, make yourselves) are all done by authorised people who know the actual guidelines...in msia anyone can make plates

i guess i'm ok with ugly fonts, afterall we don't have a choice haha..

thanks again for the input XD

aih in malaysia apa pun boleh, no standardization, flip flop policy at best. i know what you mean.. oh well, we live here so gotta abide by the so called rules...as long as your car doesn't stand out then its okay adi lah, else i think you have a CF roof or bonnet also they will kacau.. yawn.gif

check at the sc before, they said nothing wrong with the voltage and fuse.
just thought of hid is running electronic board, so it might wont so often bulb burn.
troublesome to kept on change headlight bulb for every 1-3month
*
The bulb will only burn often when using auto headlamp. If you manually turn on and off, the bulbs will last like a regular car. HID can tahan on, off, on off, but normal halogens cannot... the light sensor is too sensitive...a bit of shadow only will turn on..

What is the expected damage? The stock pads aren't really cheap when I replaced them.

I've replaced the front brake pads to stock/original one (made in Korea)..damage is RM190 including labour (of course not replacing it at SC). Bought the pads myself & ask my trusty mechanic to replace it  thumbup.gif . Replace it at SC will easily cost us RM400++ if i'm not mistaken
*
I'm definitely getting the jobs done outside. By end of this year my warranty will be out. SC servicing really costs and arm and a leg. And sadly my car is starting to have major electronic issues. They blamed it on my reverse cam, Hu and the auto fold mechanism ( 4 speed auto 2.osx here) really love this car but it has been acting weird since its last accident repair.

Ohh..me also 4-speed 2.0SX with reverse cam + HU & also install auto fold side mirror, door light & additional LED turn signal. Thank God my car still running as good as ever for almost 5 years now. Perhaps due to my accident-free car (except for minor butt kiss)
*
lucky you bro..the engine and gbox has been fairly reliable with zero problems..but i can't say the same for the electronics...i was sandwiched between a dugong and vw polo sedan last year end...since then...never ending electronic problems...mainly was unable to start car...car cannot unlock..have sent in several times to SC in penang but they are aren't unable to pinpoint the exact problem.. at first they blamed it on the HU which was also fixed by them 4 years ago but has been working well...then after they fixed everything the speedo refused to work showing 0 all the way ... then after they managed to sort that out they blamed it on the auto retract and motorized side mirror...so now my reverse camera is for display and the side mirror cannot fold!!! vmad.gif can u imagine how the sound is if you closed it by force...the tell tale sign of the car going to go gila again is when you shut off ur engine and the electronic steering lock doesn't engage with the 'zettttt' sound when u open the door...it was behaving for the past two weeks..now its back again.... ho mai god... cry.gif cross fingers that it doesn't act up again..the time sent in for the last diagnosis left me carless for almost a mth.

my mods are even lesser than yours btw...seriously dunno what is the problem..i don't blame it on SC actually as they have been diligently helping me troubleshoot the car...but the extent of the repair was? the dashboard has been removed completely for at least 3 times.... u can guess how i feel now... rclxub.gif

Hahaha it's okay, they are the best that we have in penang. So if they can't fix it I doubt other places can as well..

maybe you can call/consult KCM at KL or maybe visit them if got change, saw a forte with electronic problem there, not sure if they fixed it.

problem:
sometime can start, sometime cannot start.
sometime can start in few try, sometime in few days.
if can start everything works fine until u shut it down. sweat.gif
*
mine finally diagnosed was relay rosak (the relay inside the fuse box at the engine bay) . at first they thought is the HU wiring kacau. Exactly same problem you describe above.

The push button will be next to kong coz i have pressed it more than 30 times to get it started just once the last round before it was sent in for a week.

The other time i read about this problem was the switch at the keyless unlock at drivers door kong, that one also will interfere and cause the car to cannot start.

The tell tale sign of all these going crazy is if you DON'T hear the 'zett' sound from the steering motorized lock whenever you shut off the engine and open your driver door... this is what i experienced... so far so good, just didn't 'zett' once 2 days ago. i'm still monitoring the problem if it will keep persisting hmm.gif

i think the head of the electronics division has spent a lot of time inside my car... it was like a post mortem case before the diagnosed the issue..lol!! good training ground for the newbies.
