Flash | Instruction to flash C6833 (LTE) Firmware to C6802 (HSPA+) Model


Flashing Instructions
  • Download C6833 (LTE) .510 version from here.
  • Use flashtool and flash the firmware into your HSPA+ model without any complications.
  • Done! Now you can use the C6833 (LTE) in your C6802 (HSPA+) Model without any bugs or issues.
  • 3G and WiFi connections are not interrupted and your device won't go into soft brick mode so don't worry about that. Good luck.
Some Good News also provided by benny888 after his device was flashed.
  • Fake Hang even with Optimised Backlight unticked has not been experienced by him.
  • Everything works the same as how it used too. Just that now you're riding with the LTE firmware.
  • Rootable via VRoot 1.70
  • LTE availability not confirmed yet. We have some guys on it! Will update later if the miracle happens.

14.1.B.1.510 & .526 Fake Hang and SOD issue and prevent solution

I am pretty sure all 14.1.B.1.510 got this issue as few user already try.
It happen in Local Malaysia firmware or Taiwan base.

Below is how to rectified the problem exist and prevent solution.

How to make startup fake hang happen
  • Tick Adapt to lighting conditions at Settings - Display - Brightness.
  • Un-tick Optimised backlight and shutdown the phone.

  • Switch on the phone - you will facing the fake hang issue.
How to get SOD
  • After above scenario fake hang happen, wait until it load to phone, +/- 1 min.
  • Immediate locked the screen. Tada! Screen of Dead happen!
How to solved the issue
  • Force restart the phone - either take out the SIM card to let the phone auto restart itself or press and hold the red button beside SIM card and wait until 3 vibrate, the phone is switch off.
  • The fake hang still exist when the phone switching on, as usual wait +/-1 min to let the phone load in.
  • Tick back Optimised backlight and immediate shutdown the phone.
  • Now start the phone back, you will notice the fake hang during startup no longer happen.
  • No SOD also when locked and unlocked the screen.
Can we still not using the Optimised backlight?
  • YES - as long as you remember to tick back before plan to shutdown the phone.
Why I not prefer to use Optimised backlight?
  • The screen color more dull a bit and less pure black.
  • It is obvious noticeable when you slide left at App Drawer for more features of App Drawer, the dark grey will became bright grey in Optimised backlight.
Is SOD always happen
  • NO - It only happen when your boot-up facing fake hang issue.
  • Solution - always tick back Optimised Backlight before shutdown your phone until Sony solved it.
14.1.B.1.510 & .526- Others Issue
  • Chinese keyboard - swiping is not working when swipe in English at Small Keyboard layout.
  • Chinese keyboard - input not working proper when type in Chinese in certain website.
  • Flickering / Chopping YouTube video when watching directly under Chrome when the video not open by YouTube itself. This issue is not there when watching the video directly inside YouTube app.
  • Flickering / Chopping video same occur when download the YouTube video via third party app, example JetVD.

As for Google Experience Launcher, I'm currently using it. So far, it managed to get rid of the Xperia Home better than Nova. Customization quite limited unlike Nova but at least it works!

hi all,

i'm a note 2 user and considering Ultra Z as a possible replacement...the only concern I have is how is the user experience of bringing the big phone around? is it a hassle that you have to carry it in your hand?

It depends on you, but I have been following this thread since I had a keen interest in the XZU simply due to its size. I understand that it is too big for most pockets.

Have anyone encounter that when u call someone from the phone suddenly the it goes blank but u can hear someone talking another side but u need to press the on off a few times then it appear the caller number

or u got a faulty proximity sensor? Go warranty it / try tear off the screen protector.

Make sure u got a extra screen protector ( to put back if u tear it off)

yeah...same here...quite interested in the bigger size....but i tried to put in my pocket...well...can go in...but you can see part of the phone...maybe the corner part coming out from the pocket...

so i'm like 50-50...cuz it can go in...but probably if i'm walking with the phone inside my pocket...it will not be so nice feeling...

i even buy a small sling bag just to carry my XZU biggrin.gif , the bag also quite handy where i can put all my stuff like wallet, extra power bank etc biggrin.gif ..

Is exactly same specs except LTE model supports LTE only. My LTE set however has a more obvious yellowish tone vs my previous 3G set.

Been reading around about iPad Mini Retina.. Kinda interested.. But then, when I think back, why do I need an iPad mini when I already have this gigantic phone? Retina display, yeah right, this XZU also FHD 300++ ppi.. Faster proc, yeah right, this XZU is a quad core S800 device.. Plus XZU can have much larger storage with SD card.. But but.. Design wise, and maybe applications, ipad mini Retina drool.gif I wish it can make calls laugh.gif

OMG.. i love the lens DSC-QX10... but dun have case for XZU to fit the lens...
maybe finish SPM go to work and buy Xperia Z or Z1 and pair with the DSC-QX10..

You won't be tahan long if you use Z and Z Ultra as combo. Z screen is too worst.

note 3 standby is damn good.
on screen timing can reach 10hrs whilst my XUZ longest 8hrs. both on 3G network.
LG G2 is the best on battery performance. my friend says his 1% can tahan 12mins on screen. at 49%, already 9hrs. shocking.gif

QX10 only worth if using Ultra because built-in camera really sucks! Only problem is lack of mounting adapter for Ultra.

on screen timing can reach 10hrs whilst my XUZ longest 8hrs. both on 3G network.
LG G2 is the best on battery performance. my friend says his 1% can tahan 12mins on screen. at 49%, already 9hrs. shocking.gif

The thickness is a problem, they can't cramp a good camera in such thin device. Sony main priority is win Note 3. Slimmer, bigger, waterproof, outstanding design and build quality.

sometime, 1 feature to rule them all, for me now, the large display makes me stick with XZU. maybe also coincidentally i'm in a middle of doing literature review, i read a lot on my XZU, i transferred a bunch of PDF journals into my XZU to read on the go.. it does helps a lot.. and some books that i bought from Amazon and Google books haven't finish.. if this XZU can stay with me until next flagship release next year, then it break my personal record to be the longest duration Android device on my hands.

I realized a lot people buy this phone because of the hype when they launched it but once they got it, doesnt seem so practical due to its size. Lucky for me I like big phones and the fact they can fit in my pocket, I dare say no regrets getting this phone only prolly i should have waited when the price dropped. Haha..

Don't ever allow the battery to discharge completely. You are lucky you can restart phone after charge. I thought the phone will auto switch off after 4% as reported by another user. Inbuilt battery gadgets is best to resume charge after 5% left to avoid difficulty to switch it back on at one go. I have bad experience unable to restart my nexus n fonepad when battery drain to empty. I resort to open back casing n pull off battery connectors n reconnect it to restart it. Don't think you can do such for the XZU.

Tried Xperia Transfer but the app sucks! Always stuck on "Reading content on old phone". Any other way?

my xperia zl once cannot switch on after i accidentally let the battery drain completely. i wont switch on even after hours of charging. after almost 24 hrs of charging and countless resetting attemp, it boots but the battery was still at 1℅. but after that it charge without problem.

A quick questing about charging XZU. I noticed sometimes the charging light at notification is orange, some times is green. It shows green but in fact it is still charging at 92% and progressing.

What is the different between charging in orange color & green color? Also is there a quick charging for XZU?

any1 know what is the piece of paper above the sim tray. it didnt affect any functions so i left it there.

I already pull out and confirm. You can push it back in after pull out...don't use gorilla force to pull the whole thing out la. sweat.gif if you gently pull, it will come to a stop.

The bigger piece holds the phone info serial code etc.

The smaller piece at the bottom is a water indicator. If it turns pink your warranty is void. So always remember to close your flaps and don't do too extreme underwater stuff.

Before when I hold the white one a lot of strangers come up to me and ask me what phone is it including girls.

Black not so obvious, only one of my badminton friend saw the phone and took his note 2 to compare side by side, commented wow.. Such a big phone lol

It's gonna be a common scene but don't worry xzu won't be the biggest phone to hold up to ur ears.
I've seen a lot people use their 7' to pick up calls WITH a flip cover on.
Must be most of them thinking it's more worth to get a less than 1k phablet with 7'' screen, and then a 2k phone with just 5.5''.

Imagine seeing a guy pick up calls with a watch and another talking on a so called "tile".. Which one will catch ur attention more?

I do it often n I find it completely acceptable. I don't feel funny holding it to my ears. I would say it is all a matter of your own perception of it. Those who use 7-8 inch tablets I would think is too big to be comfortable.

Always in my baggy pants n 3/4 shorts side pockets. I can even fit my Nexus 7 into it. Comfortable n no pocketability issues. I never wear jeans n in fact in my 50+ years has never wear a single pair of it. I just hate the sight of it.

i dont think is the case.. there have been reports of XZU screen being too fragile and cracking by itself

4.3 does improve on performance. Notice it in my recent HTC one 4.3 upgrade.

4.3 have a feature call TRIM.

iOS 7 only suck on iPhone 4 and 4S, 5 I think ok, and of coz pls u see the iPhone 5S running new A7 processor, 64Bit, GPU also up level. sweat.gif But I heard my friend say iOS 7.1 beta no lag on his iPhone 4.

The model is a Cybershot WX80 model, the price is the same, but dunno which to get, either the lens or the camera.

A quick review for qx10.

Once Tap NFC
- camera instant on.
- Play memories mobile took approx 12 secs till u see the viewfinder.
Takes pics almost instantly after u tap the shutter button on phone.
Takes about 8secs to transfer photo to phone.

The lag is not always there, it happened occasionally when moving the cam or zooming.

When it's smooth, and it's really smooth.

When it's lagging, it's fully zoom but on your phone its still slowly zooming in.. Like stutter.

But it's not that bad till it passes me off.

This quick review is based on first try/play.
Will update when I spend more time playing it.

*NO the bundled clip is not compatible with xzu.

Most reviews points the QX10 is not a worthwhile buy vs QX100. However the QX100 is terribly more expensive.

It is very laggy if the area full of WiFi signals. My house have 3-4 APs running and QX10 quite laggy. But in my office, only 1 AP running and QX10 quite smooth.

If you want quick pic, you better buy a camera. Many people complain that it took around 5 to 6 seconds to pair it and start snapping.

I don't think the spring can support xzu as its quite big. Barely even able to clip Note 2.

Agree. The camera is for serious business. This smart lens are really just for fun n showing off. Haha

Because u don't know when will it lag n hang making u missed all those special moments. Imagine thing group shot n it stutter or hang... Haha.. Embarrassing

I do try QX10 and QX100. I know what you all mention on lagging.

The lens itself is smooth but the connection over to device screen not in my targeted.

That the reason end up I didn't buy any even thought the output quality of QX100 is awesome.

Full photo size up to 6mb.

I haven't really hold it on my hands to take pic yet. I put it on table. The haha. I can't imagine holding a 6.4inch phablet n that lens to take pic unless hook on to the back

For RM699 QX10, I think it is worth paying the price if you do a lot of online posting. Might not be as snappy as normal point & shoot.

I'm considering QX100 or NEX-5TL which both are PlayMemories compatible. Very likely I will go for NEX-5TL which is good for point & shoot as well as instant online posting.

All & all it depends on our budget smile.gif

Thats my unit..box n warranty card tear by my kids.not like my zl have thorus sticker.
No receipt as bought second hand.
My concern is how want to send warranty at service center without warranty card..

Yea it's reasonable considering all the flak it's been getting, I also notice this LTE batch eventhough it's AP set performed better than the 3G original one that I had before. Maybe it's due to luck also, not all sets are the same.

I am facing a possible hardware problem though, when I put a headphone in the headphone jack, only 1 side of the headphone has sound, the other side no sound, before this it was working properly.Tried other headphones also same problem. Is there a way to fix it without sending it back, quite worried they have to change the set as this one has whiter colour balance compared to other LTE ones I tried.

yup, i bought those casing only cost me RMB7 per piece (around RM 3.60)..

I even bought a dummy set of XZU tongue.gif, cost about RMB50 tongue.gif ..

if you are lucky, just insert and pull out headphone jack continuously. maybe will get the jack to work again

Been playing with qx10 connected to my xzu or tz.
I gotta say its a pretty good camera, its a perfect match for phablet or tablet without flash..haha.
Its more convenient for indoor use for now since no clipping accessories available for xzu or tz. And dont expect to catch a fast moment with this,it takes longer than u starting ur default camera app on smartphone.

i also got 2 sets f front and back SP, thought of wanna use SP, but end up never use them.. who want? LOL... until now my XZU is just naked.. although the shatter proof film got hairlines scratches here and there, but overall the phone doesn't seems to have any other wear tear marks.. i really like the side bezel design, its invisible to scratches.. unlike my previous other phone like the galaxies and iphone, in which i tend to at least use side bumper to maintain the side bezel from scratch. my previous note 2, the chrome side bezel began to peel off from a deep scratch mark sweat.gif

z series support ds3 wireless controller. I purposely bought ds3 controller for my ZL. but I think all same d.

only support some games natively. dead trigger 1,2. shadowgun, modern combat 4, virtual tennis, riptide, beach buggy blitz, gta 3, vc and others.

best gaming experience with controller. haha. if can connect to tv better. hopefully more and more games can be supported in future.

Worth buying as this is cheap but very good stuff vs rm400-500 of Sony CP12.. Is like having another extra battery on the phone n charges phone quite fast at about 40% per hour.

guys..anyone using maxis 3g here?

my phone recently happen this..today is goingMore crazy since i long way back from Thailand..

it will be disconnect from 3g if no line ( even my network set WCDMA oNly) once reconnectback never show 3g..

have to me restart my phone again and again making me fvking pissed off

your's is it Sandisk "Ultra"? i got 32gb Sandisk Ultra in my XZU, it performs as expected. Sandisk ultra colored red/grey.

But this one black color, and have "10" printing on it.. hmm.. at first i thought it is just another variant of Sandisk, maybe a cheaper one, but if printed calss 10, it can perform exceed class 6 i would be happy enough.. but this, it perform as of class 4.. i've inform the seller about this, but he insists it is original and can do refund if i'm not satisfied.. weird.. well, i intend to use this in my DAP, to dump my music collection in, preparing for a long flight next week.. if this is a fake, will just waste time to COD and return… very busy lately, time is precious.. sighh

there are many versions of "class 10", but if write speed at 4mbps then thats wrong la. best to use for the XZU is the same one forumer mention, the ultra series which writes at 30mbp/s. Im using the 32gb version and bought at rm79 at digital mall pj. Quite a good buy and its performing well.

Woo..64gb....better u try copy some file total around 8gb..like pic or song or video....after done copy...u try check..if got some missing file in sd card...thats mean...clone..i also kena before...buy 32gb...then can copy around 2gb only..more then that...file corrupt already .

price around rm100 is sandisk ultra class 10 32gb d price.. where rm100 for 64gb i think is the case for class 4.. class 4 64gb rm100 above.. if ur sd card was not corrupted i think its ok la..

yeah.. as benny said, sandisk ultra was provided lifetime warranty as well.. as long as the products still in production, mean can get 1 to 1 exchange.. good luck

omg, the myth is true, the screen just began to crack without a reason. shocking.gif

but i have dropped mine on the floor, slept on top of it while i'm tertidur at sofa, my baby girl stepped on it, it still survive.. lol..

anyway, feel sorry for u.. the screen is expensive tho.. but, i remember i read on XDA that u might be able to claim warranty on cracked screen if you can prove that it does not happen due to your faulty handling. worth a try. please check on XDA site.. good luck

I remember one user reported he was quoted nearly RM1.1K to replace it in the previous thread. Actually is not worth to repair unless you really love the phone and plan to keep it at least next 2-3 years.

I bought the same one from a LYN member... RM 50 for 64GB and turns out to be fake. Won't store anything if file size is 1GB+ and after few hours, phone will complaint to format the card. Tried to format but failed. Maybe few lucky people can use till kaput.

If only one crack line, try ask for replacement, they is news mention Sony did free replacement for certain crack.

If you never drop then it is probably others reason make this screen crack itself.

Don't paid RM 1K for screen replacement, it not worth, by typing topping up some you can get a new one.

Must be you turned on Stamina mode. If you turned on stamina mode and you want certain apps to still receive push notification, you have to add exception to those apps so that they continue to function.

Yea, the original battery FW50 (made in japan) cost RM285. That's why I decided to get it on the roadshow, plus free lens filter. Its quite a good deal actually, very happy w the photo quality & wifi photo sharing. The concept is same as QX10/100 which live view / remote control to smartphone is supported. Body & kit lens is just 392g and it is quite pocketable.

For repair you have to go to the center opposite plaza berjaya
The curve center will pick up the phone and send there for repairs. It will take quite some time. Depending on th issue
I would suggest that you go there your self. Much faster too.

Why not shipping? Its pretty safe to use postage nowadays.
I even bought a bridge camera online .
So far, only manage to play with few times. Mostly indoor when want to snap some pics for stuff.
Havent really brought out with me since I dont have a proper pouch or casing for it.
Overall its fun to have it and photo quality is great since I have a phablet n a tablet without flash. Haha
Maybr when the xzu accessory is out thrn I will bring out more.

me lazy go search, so took a ipad mini and cut to size, the front camera hole matches nicely, just need extra hole for proximity sensor
