Just got invitation from HR in one of the OPUs in Kerteh for a SI, and the SI will be conducted in Kerteh! I didn't know the OPUs can handle SI by themselves

Btw, I went for chit-chat with their management personnel two month ago. I thought they have freeze the recruitment since the oil price plunging and shock got the call. So going to do it anyway trying my luck.

Mine deals directly with OPU after been informed by the HR incharged the SI that i passed the SI.

from the letter, it seems that need to go to PIPE on 2nd at Kajang/Bangi, then only report at KLCC on 11th.

Really? Mine pulak on the letter told me to go for PIPE on 4th Feb and report duty at KLCC on 13th, but yesterday HR told me that they cancelled the PIPE because there are not enough participant and asked me to report duty at KLCC first then go for PIPE on March.

I can't report duty on February, still have to tender resignation my current job first

Hi all. I have a question. How long usually does it take to be called for an SI? I've put in an informal application in August, and made a formal application (on Discover Petronas) end of November. It feels so long.

not all fields are freezed. and not all opu did. they are still actively taking new people with ICT/BIS background, for example. Engineering also still got intake. so yeah, just go bro. you still have the chance to make it happens.

They won't totally freeze fresh grad/1-3 years experience guys intake. Or else there'll be a huge generation gap, of which not really desirable, in any opu.

My case, less than 2 weeks, 9 days to be exact

From this thread, you can see it varies from few weeks to few months also.

I guess it depends on the hiring manager & efficiency of HR

Usually HR will arrange chit-chat section for no or less experience candidate. SI only will be arranged once you have pass your chit chat or TA (experienced candidate) section.

My hiring journey started with submission to Discover Petronas on March/April last year, TA on May then SI on July. Medical letter & offer letter issued 1 or 2 weeks after got my SI result. Cheers.......

A friend of mine who went to apply last October apparently received a reply from HR.
Seems like they are freezing external hires & waiting for next month meeting before deciding to continue freezing or not.

As for me i've passed my SI in Sept and received a call from Miss Juliana (recruitment manager) early in Nov. She offered me as recruitment exec and asking whether i can rport duty asap. But up until now havent heard anything. Anyone knows about PDB freezing their recruitment?. It worries me since i had turned down my contract recently just to prepare for PETRONAS. 😢😢
