The Ibanez Tube-Screamer is probably your best bet......
You can also try the SD-1....but not really sure if that'll work

if im not mistaken the sd1 should be pretty cheap, slightly more than the ds1.
of course different pedals of diff brands will give u different sounds. its different types of pedals in the first place. thats the beauty of having stompboxes, u get to choose. |

Do people normally boost a pedal with another pedal?
The TubeScreamer and DS-1 are more commonly used to boost their tube amp's distortion. |

QUOTE(darrencw @ Oct 13 2006, 02:07 PM) guys, please help me to identify this guitar. I can't seem to make out what the head says. I did some searches around Google and managed to find that there are white and black Zakk Wylde Epiphones around.http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=161705&st=1420 |

Really? I got a statement from Epiphone once saying that they only make 'em in Vanilla White, a SPECIFIC color ONLY made for the Epip Zakk Wylde Bullseye.

hey guys, I decided on getting a les paul but i don't know to get an sx one or epiphone one. I refered to my old guitar teacher, he told me to get an sx one cause with proper upgrades and tune ups, he says it can sound even better than an epiphone. But I sorta don't want to have another sx cause my strats already an sx..if an epi is the way to go, then maybe i'll go down to sg this holidays and get one. btw, my teacher also said, and i quote "epiphone is a crap brand". Discuss.

What is your budget? Yes.... in SOME cases an SX might be more worthwhile then an Epiphone. But if you have the budget, go for a decent Epi Les Paul.... I would HIGHLY recommend the Les Paul Custom.....
And DarrenCW..... an Epiphone Les Paul Custom is NOT a customized model.... it's just a name they call for their "high-end" range. And about Epi being crap? Well, I personally like it. It's all a personal thing really. Some might not like it because they are paying such a high price for an average guitar, JUST because it's an Epiphone. I find them well built, of good quality, and if treated well, they can give you lots of return. Heck, I STILL use my so-called "crappy" LP-100.... Use it as much as my Epi ZW I would say. I can go for 1.3k to 1.5k..but i think i'll just get an sx custom for Rm 890 and upgrade the pickups..i feel that it's too tedious going down to s'pore to get an epiphone..what pickups do epihpones come with and how much does it cost to upgrade the pickups? cause the pickups on my strat was surprisingly good and had minimal buzz

Remember...... different pickups go with different woods too...... You're SX's wood quality might be different from an Epiphone, so the same pickup might sound totally different.
And of course...... different Pickups also makes all the difference...... for me, I play lotsa Metal and Hard Rock, so EMG 81/85 actives were a natural fit. |

From what i heard and read, many think SX wood is better money for the value of the money..it's practically the same or better than epiphone (according to what i heard..not sure bout this)
