So to end this flame war....... Everyone has their favs..... Steve Vai and Satch love their Ibanez, Metallica loves their ESPs (even though they do whack out the occassional Les Paul.... even adding more fuel to the fire that every guitar has it's own sound), Zakk love his Gibsons and Santana and Mark Tremonti love their PRS......

Same goes for amps.... Steve will forever be using Legacy.... Zakk will be with his Marshalls.... two different sounds for two different artists....

We will never have a definate answer on what's the best guitar...... best guitar for shredding..... maybe...... best guitar for riffs? maybe..... but will never know what's THE BEST guitar there is......

It's ok to say WHY you like it, but don't go forcing your opinion down someones throat..... For me, MY best guitar would be a Les Paul..... Everdying would probably agree that his would be an SG.... Noisetrigger would probably stick to his Ibanez..... everyone's opinion is individual....

When recommending a guitar to someone..... ESPECIALLY a beginner.... it's good that we share our knowledge..... but don't be too biased against YOUR favorite guitar. Like me, I would recommend a Fender strat against a Les Paul for beginners.... but that's all I'm giving..... a recommendation. End of the day...... it's their decision. You might not like it...... but the other party will.......

Damn, don't make me look like a sissy. sad.gif The bullseye was much heavier and bulkier than the LP that I usually play heh. But of course, the LP that I usually play has a better LP tone, IMHO wink.gif .

actually the guitar i play more now is the Epi LP.
i still love the neck of my '74 SG, but its too tiring to play for long periods.

i'm gonna get tham to recrown my Epi LP frets to a low flat crown, like my '74 SG.
old gibsons and even PRS have those flat crowns, real nice to play on.

Yeah...... but does it have a better Zakk Wylde tone???

If I wanted the ORIGINAL Les Paul tone...... I'd already installed Gibson Burstbuckers already......

Man, this place is way too peaceful and and everyone trying too hard not to step on each other toes. tongue.gif

Come on guys, what we need is a good solid intense discussion. It gets boring when it always has to end in a subjectivity.

Blacktrix and Led Zep, it is not about shoving anything down anybody throat, Blacktrix loves his LP, Everdying loves his SG, quite a few of us here love our Ibanez, it's all in good fun.

Let's us all debate to death, this is a forum for god's sake. drool.gif

ps-I wouldn't call what transpired earlier a flame war LOL. Flame wars are for lamers and people with too much time on their hands. We are all civilized and intellectual people. We are capable of carrying out intense discussions.

There is no flame war, just that some took it as flame wars. Like I said, this place is too polite.
