Currently using digi smart plan and 48 for 1gb is totally not sufficient for me
And due to working I am consider a heavy voice user
So is the plan of unlimited 80 is good?
How was the coverage of voice and internet ?? Thanks!

before committing to umobile, try their prepaid first.

1) get starter pack from usual stores, e.g. 7E or svc ctrs or dealers. starter pack rm8 only. Info http://www.u.com.my/new_prepaidplan
2) reload with rm30 voucher. get this reload when u get the starter pack. your total credit will be rm38
3) subscribe UMI28 @ RM28/mth http://www.u.com.my/prepaid/unlimited-mobile-internet-plan . UMI28 is a bundle add-on to your basic prepaid plan and deduct rm28 from your credit.

3 aspects to test: service vs location/coverage vs time

service
try out all the services (voice, sms, mms, internet)

location/coverage
test the connection speed/quality, coverage strength, etc. at your usual places, e.g. home (front, back, upper floor, etc.), workplace, lepak place, hiding place brows.gif , etc

time
try the services, at your usual locations, during morning, afternoon, evening, night, midnight, early vampire morning sweat.gif

the umi28 package valid for 1 month (30 days), so test all these kaw-kaw within this period. if you're satisfied, port to umobile postpaid plans.

mcm pro o haha  cool2.gif  if low budget then just buy the pack and don top up just normal testing since per mb only charging RM 0.20, RM 5 is sufficient to test

i just found a weird thing (or maybe good thing), UMI18 package only maximum 1.5mbps but payu and umi28 above all enjoy top speed, so light user can't finish the 250mb fast enough ? haha
*
haha pro cuz i started prepaid oso, then only get u28 postpaid thumbup.gif last time umobile got so many coverage issue, scared to port-in sweat.gif

Newbie question here, if I buy a UMI28 plan, I will get 1GB unthrottled data and 50 Mins, 30 SMS and after finishing the free calls and SMS it will be PAYU.

My question is would the RM28 become a part of my phone credit, or is it only for the data and the free calls and SMS. Becoming a part of the phone credit seem too good to be true but just wanna confirm. Thanks!
*
UMI28 plan is a subscription plan (bundle). you buy/subscribe first, then only get the FREE 1GB data/50mins/30sms.

once this bundle is finish, the PAYU (chargeable) rate will be counted.

treat your prepaid sim = debit card thumbup.gif have enough credit inside, then buy the desired plan. without enough credit, you cant buy any UMI plans.

Hi. I am having problems with personal hotspot on Iphone 4 running IOS 7.1. I cannot seem to save the personal hotspot settings (under Cellular Data network. Cellular Data and MMS works just fine) where as after I put my3g as the APN and get out of the settings and check it back, it's gone.

From my research after googling for information it seems it has something to do with carriers not having the authorization to use personal hotspot. I am in dire need to use the hotspot because it's pretty much a life saver.

Please do note that previously on IOS 7.0.6 I was able to use personal hotspot normally without any issues.
*
unrelated to umobile. more to recent iOS 7.1 update.

Hi,

I am on UMI28.  What are the benefits if I top up, just say, RM50?

Is it like RM1 for 2 days so valid period would be 100 days?

My 1GB hi-speed is still only for 30 days, right?  biggrin.gif

So on the 31st day, I cannot use internet anymore at hi-speed (only at throttled speed), but I can reload anytime - right up to the 99th day?
Thanks in advance.
*
the prepaid topup extends the prepaid validity only. if topup RM50, then 100 days validity. thumbup.gif

UMI28 (or any UMIxx) has its own validity of 30-days because it's a subscription package itself. UMI is not a prepaid plan sweat.gif

to simplify, you need a prepaid as the base ... then all VAS will be sitting on top of it, e.g. UMI, MB, Blackberry, etc.

correct, after UMI expires, the package itself will no longer valid. your base prepaid will still be usable until day 100, e.g. free calls, sms, mms, etc.

UMI Auto-Renewal

UMI actually auto-renew itself, provided prepaid credit is enough to (auto)buy another new UMI package. You will get few SMS reminders few days before it expire.

Unsubscribe/Opt-Out UMI Auto-Renewal

Method 1 (manual):
You can opt-out the auto-renewal by "unsubscribing" UMI plan. Unsubscribe doesnt mean terminate the UMI, but it just tell umobile you no longer want to auto-renew after current UMI expire.

Method 2 (auto):
You can also let the auto-renewal to fail (make sure credit is less than UMI price). After 2nd renewal retry, it will stop renewing your UMI and "unsubscribe" you automatically brows.gif

Hey does the MB plans give unlimited internet at throttled speed upon exceeding quota?
*
definitely yes.

as long as the plan has published quota, there will be throttling after exceeding it.

Most likely following the recent Galaxy Note 3's "No Upfront" payment tactic, which only on higher plans, purchase the device via credit card and subscribe to Auto Debit for monthly access fee.

if always >5GB, then get the postpaid internet plan:http://www.u.com.my/phone-deals/broadband-devices

if manage within 5GB, both prepaid and postpaid internet is ok. http://www.u.com.my/u-broadband/prepaid_plans
