1. Is it umi 28 automatic renew subscription after a month? Just topup enough credit?

2. What the speed for umi 28 after quota?
My I only 0.02 mb ..is it normal?
Also
how much speed average for 2g network?
*
1) yes, there will be few sms reminders before the renewal. just keep enough credit so the renewal will go through (aka auto-deduct your credit to repurchase the umi28 plan).

2) 64kbps

Im' not sure whether this is normal, but i topup RM70 on feb 18, but my validity only lasts for 100days cause my balance is due till may 29. Anyone the same as me?
*
assuming you use top-up voucher RM50 + RM20, topping up on the same day 18-Feb, then it's correct.

RM50 = 100 days validity ..... so, 18-Feb + 100 days = 29-May.

the RM20 topup is "useless" cuz multiple topping up doesnt extend the validity back-to-back. It starts from the day you top up, i.e. 18-Feb and only the longest validity date is valid.

since 29-May is the longest validity, the RM20 (40 days) doesnt make any difference.

e.g.

18-Feb ----------------- [100 days] --------------------- 29-May
18-Feb ---- [40 days] --- 30-Mar

even if you top-up RM20 first, then RM50, the longest validity of either one will take effect.

yes this is logically acceptable

so i think the only way to topup RM70 is to topup it once and u'll get ur desired airtime

how to do that? beats me  sweat.gif
*
haha not possible. so far voucher denomination is RM10, RM30, RM50, RM100.

even if getting RM70 from Tesco/Watson, the 2X validity is not as straightforward. It's based on certain value band.

Denominations (RM)Double Validity (days)
RM5 – RM910
RM10 – RM2920
RM30 – RM4960
RM50 – RM99100
RM100 – RM499200
RM500 & Above365

why don't have RM150 for 300days or RM200 for 400days.
*
yup, rm500 not worth it. Digi Best Super Long Life only RM30! haha

why? ask umobile lor. sweat.gif

But I read somewhere that maxis and u mobile sharing same lte tower, and maxis offers lte service to my area in puchong ( one little dot in map). It that unique to maxis or Issit possible u mobile has it as well cause to test this I would need a lte compatible device. Plan to get a USB modem but don't want to buy if can't get signal.
*
both telco got MoU to share the infra. service availability is independent for each telco.

umobile also open 4G LTE for Prepaid + UMI38/UMI48 . that means, buy prepaid starer pack, topup rm40/50, then subscribe umi38/48. test all you want until quota finish or umi expired (30days validity).

if satisfied, subscribe to postpaid broadband, e.g. MB40, MB68 and MB128. get CnY Garage's help smile.gif

as CnY Garage suggested, get someone with LTE-enabled device to help you. not feasible to spend hundreds to get usb modem, but later found out cannot get 4G LTE signal at your preferred locations (house, office, lepak place, etc.)

preferable get someone with LTE-enable smartphones. if the phone detected 4G/LTE signal (using umobile sim card), then it's safe to say that particular area got LTE coverage. if stucked at 3G/H+ signal, then you know LTE not covered in your area, for now.

read more info, coverage @ https://www.u.com.my/4g

the standard disclaimer applies: best effort thumbup.gif

no cap by umobile anyway, so if you're in low-congested and strong signal areas, you can get as high as available to you. thumbup.gif

all telco do the same anyway, cant run.

it's business for telco to make money from top-ups.

i got good and stable 3G speed from Maxis in my area, do i will get the same speed and stable connection if i subscribe to uMobile?

QoS is independent for both telcos.

umobile manage their own QoS, eventhough uses maxis' infra.

now they all sekongkol even the said 'unlimited speed' Celcom 1Malaysia lags like hell after 1Gb usage
*
that's how telco workaround MCMC and make money at the same time.

they cannot terminate your service. all they can do is make it painfully slow for you. then you're "forced" to upgrade to higher quota plans or top-up.

business-wise, they cannot be giving you unlimited speed, unlimited quota, right? you're buying for the quota (finite amount). after depleting quota, you're suppose to replenish it again lor.

Why this one charge 10sen ?
http://www.u.com.my/idd/overview

And this one 5sen ?
http://www.u.com.my/idd/best-idd-1310
*
any direct IDD calls without special prefix are using premium route, hence higher call rate.

those with special prefix number for IDD calls are using cheaper/economy call routes. so telco can offer slightly cheaper call rate.

U Mobile got IDD 1310, Maxis got Value IDD 132, DiGi got IDD 133.

they uses these prefixes so that system can properly route your destination call accordingly, and charge you with the correct call rate.

telcos offers cheaper call rates to certain IDD countries only; especially to target migrant segments (Bangladesh, Nepal, Vietnam, etc.) These users dont really mind average call quality, as long as the call rate is as low as possible. They dont give higher revenue, but their quantity/duration of calls is very much higher. Yep, they call a lot more and a long longer than us! smile.gif

Migrants have nothing much to do after work hours. Most of them will make long calls back to their home countries. They dont mingle with locals, so their activities are limited to their own community.

dai gor, check betul betul la, 1 is per min 1 is per 30sec  tongue.gif
but in this case calling china got no difference either with prefix or not, some more i m wondering that best idd 1310 is charging RM 0.1 per min and normal 1 is RM 0.05 per 30secs

so if i call less than 30 seconds, the IDD 1310 should charge as 0.1 due to charging block as 1 min or follow as RM 0.05, any 1 can confirm bout it let me know  cool2.gif
*
if you use 1310 prefix, rm0.05 will be charged le smile.gif

if you forgot to use the 1310 prefix (e.g. direct dial), of course RM0.10 will be charged.

the prefix is used for easy identification and for charging purposes.

*great, umobile website is down brows.gif

no no u misunderstood my question, in this case the 1310 prefix rate charge on china is RM 0.1 / min, while normal IDD rate is RM 0.05 / 30secs

so if the block count for 1310 is per min, so calling by 1310 prefix is more expensive than normal IDD call
if the block count is per 30secs, then 1310 or normal IDD call rate is SAME for calling CHINA
*
ah yes, that's correct. thumbup.gif

Nope umobile only offer contract if you sign phone package with them
Normal plan confirm no contract needed
*
that means, we can signup postpaid plans now (contract-free), and by end of 2014 *if* U Mobile offer Galaxy S5 (example lah tongue.gif), you can therefore get the phone at subsidized price, and the contract will kick-in.

so, in another way, umobile's postpaid plans are like 'prepaid'-contract free plan. once we get the phone, contract begin! <-- which is quite fair for customers.

This is SO much better than other telcos that need to sign-up new plans jsut to get the phone! thumbup.gif

oh yalo, extra 250mb that time, if u28 i think ok lah but u58 last time always under utilize.... so yes i prefer rebate in cash... umobile should open for all credit card la....haha.
*
actually i'm still getting 250mb. my u28 (1gb) + 250MB bonus quota, ngam ngam enuf for my monthly usage thumbup.gif

usually i finished 250MB within 10 days (avg hit 80% by 6-7th, 100% by 7-9th).

now this is something interesting i found out about the bonus quota vs plan quota:

1) every new month/bill reset, you'll get 250MB bonus quota immediately.
2) i noticed the plan quota (1GB) will no reset back to 1GB. still stucked with last months usage count.
3) called up CS, they said plan quota 1GB will only reset after bonus quota is depleted. <-- weird huh
4) so i tested this. quickly finish my bonus quota 250MB. then after a while, my 1GB reset liao.

oh well, as long as i get back my quota, dont really care much. thumbup.gif

compared to umi28, yup, not more special benefits.

i keep u28 cuz of auto-billing feature, so my number will never "expire" sweat.gif
