QUOTE(CnY Garage @ Jan 30 2014, 03:47 PM) maybe i recommend friends to get in touch of you if pay with AMEX on weekends (5% cashback) + pay thru you to get addtional 5% discount = 10% off the bills goodies! p/s: btw, how does the "discount" reflected in the postpaid bill? let's say total bill = RM50. we pay RM47.50 or pay RM50 then discount RM2.50 as a separate item on the bill? QUOTE(bjohnxbjohn @ Feb 3 2014, 02:46 PM) Hi all sifu, Happy CNY. besides the 3x -> 2x validity, free sms no more, the PAYU voice rate changed too (1sen more). Now only I realise the changes of the prepaid plan effective from Jan 2014. Surprising that 3X validity changed to 2X. I have a question, is there any disadvantage if switch to new prepaid plan? Basically, i gone through FAQ but not T&C. A bit faint on long page of wording. if you can use within the bundled data and voice minutes, you wont feel the change. remember: umobile revised this prepaid after hotlink revised to their always-on internet plan. |

there's a slight difference between the actual value (by the operator) vs perceived value (by the consumer)
perceived value is the imaginary value hyped by marketing and by the current market/economics. all telcos do data analysis on all their customers' usage and spending behavior. for umobile, probably they know the 3x validity is causing lesser customers to topup compared to 2x. remember, all telcos make money faster through prepaid. lan_86 what plan you bought with "rm10/month" ?? curious to know |

QUOTE(CnY Garage @ Feb 4 2014, 05:52 PM) well, he's data-exclusive user, even if topping up RM10/mth to get 20days validity, he still need to top up more to get a decent UMI28/UMI38 lor (unless he prefer UMI18??) but it takes proper planning in topping up cuz there is no rm20 voucher, only rm10, rm30, rm50. topping via softpin has different validity period (not exactly RM1 = 2days validity), so he cant exactly buy RM15 topup to get 30days validty anyway. QUOTE(jackyyong @ Feb 5 2014, 09:42 PM) Yeap, lesson learnt. Next time deal with dealer or top up with coupon. you bought prepaid starter pack from 7-11. so, by right you should buy prepaid top-up, not pay bill (which is for services with statements, e.g. postpaid). this is why umobile can see your transaction but the money was not channelled through topup system)I think I did not do that. I use pay bill feature in M2U, not prepaid top up as you mentioned. I managed to call customer service (the number is 1318 by the way. The website is very un-user friendly, I can't find this number at all!!). Lodged a complaint, said that they will investigate and get back to me in 3-5 working days. Just wait if they can fix this ..... also in M2U, the prepaid top-up will give you a reload PIN, which you keyin in the phone. <-- this works similar to physical reload voucher (you scratch to get the unique reload PIN, enter into the phone using reload command. instructions here https://www.u.com.my/prepaid-packages/top-up-locations ) umobile dont have instant topup whereby the reload is inserted into your prepaid account immediately (bypassing the reload pin process). also, the original sim card (the big size portion) has printed all the relevant contact info, website, pin/puk, etc. Also, the 1318 (can only be dialed by umobile customers) & +60183881318 (everyone) are already stored in the sim card phonebook. curious, you cannot find ANY number in umobile website???? https://www.u.com.my/ <-- footer social networks: https://www.facebook.com/umobile | https://twitter.com/umobilesb | This post has been edited by cybpsych: Feb 6 2014, 08:47 AM |

QUOTE(Destim @ Feb 5 2014, 11:18 PM) http://www.u.com.my/faqs/52/135?page=1![]() free calls from ANY purchased plans will be utilized first. the free calls that comes pre-bundled in the new prepaid plan will always be utilized last, lowest priority. you didnt pay for it since it was given complimentary with the prepaid. why behaving such? cuz they want to finish off whatever that you bought (e.g. UMI), so that you need to buy UMI again! |

QUOTE(sbanboy @ Feb 6 2014, 09:06 AM) Thanks for the clarification .... I think the UMI48 will be just fine for me ... I switched over from SurfMore75 Maxis and my bill inclusive of phone calls/sms would be 100 plus. Now with UMI48 free calls when I top up and the bundled sms and voice calls to all networks .. really help me to watch my spending ... this is the first time I am trying out prepaid .. was a faithful post paid customers all these years. better choice, eh I saved a contact : *118*3*1*3# so that I can dial it to check my UMI usage i still cannot convince myself to consider maxis, at all. it's too expensive, compared to other telcos. i'm now at postpaid u28 with umobile, and my monthly bill hardly go over rm30 i just need the 1GB data exclusively; voice/sms is not important for me. i like voice/sms PAYU rate, meaning if i call more, i pay more. simple logic. if i dont use at all, at least i'm paying RM28/mo for 1GB data. dont think other telco has such low price for 1GB quota (easy peasy maintenance is a plus, hate those stupiak conditions). being postpaid, i dont have to worry about topping up, watch my validity period. i dont get promos/benefits that are offered with umobile prepaid, since there will always be T&Cs tied to it, and i couldnt be bothered much analyzing each single details i'm definitely NOT their prepaid target customers LOL! and they cant milk more money from me either! QUOTE(sbanboy @ Feb 6 2014, 09:38 AM) Hehe .. cybpsych ... well written buddy. yeah, i also mostly connected with wifi at home and majority is at workplace I am trying out the 2 gb data (UMI48) ... if I don't exceed .. I will try 1gb (UMI28/38).... and if all goes well .. I might even switch over to post paid. Most of the time .. I am connected to my wifi at home and sometimes at work. Mostly need the data for whatsapp, line, waze and skype. Heavy usage only when I am outstation and have to tether my phone to the laptop/tablet. Anyway there is a 6% tax for the post paid right ? yep, 6% tax must be imposed for postpaid. U28 Postpaid + 6% (RM1.68) tax = RM29.68 hehe still <RM30 oh btw, soon, all prepaid vouchers will face the dreaded 6% GST, again, for real this time. telcos cannot run away now since GST has been set for effective date of 1 April 2015. |

umobile is getting worse, same story with any telcos. Umobile gotten so many customers for the past 2years (from 1mil to 4-5mil customers and growing) and the network congestion will keep getting worse.
Nobody knows what is their upgrade/expansion plan, if there ever any. Keep pressuring them, reports to mcmc/cfm due to poor below expectation service level. If you got any blogs, publish the experience out. |

QUOTE(HaloDrop @ Feb 10 2014, 08:11 AM) Guys, I have a question, how to unsubscribe umobile postpaid u28. I just make a mistake because my area (melaka) do not have coverage. no such thing as "unsubscribing" postpaid plans. Does I have to pay some more to terminate this postpaid. Or can I just do walk away just like the prepaid plan without any "side effect" in the future. to avoid any side-effect, pls go to service centre to terminate the plan (fill up form). you should receive one last bill after termination (prorated amount to be paid). you can ask the staff to give you the estimation of the last bill. ask them to clarify the charges if you're unsure what it is. if you registered autopay, ask them to remove it as well. keep the last bill and termination form (copy). store it somewhere convenient. after you pay for the last bill, keep the payment receipt too. this is to prove you've settled all outstanding amount after termination. |
