Hi, Just got the HTL9100 philips fidelio from Legends Sri Petaling at RM2299 + RM99 for the Philips media player which I believe it's actually complimentary from philips anyway doesn't bother me much as it's still cheaper to be compare with Harvey or seng heng which is now selling at rm2699. Retail price is RM2999. Well must admit I really like this soundbar. It sounds great, it’s versatile, and I think the surround-on-demand option is a really neat idea. If you want good sound without the hassle of trailing cables and fiddly set-ups, this is the way to go. Anyway just want to find out with you guys about the cable connection for audio and video. FYI, I m hooking up this system with my Sony Smart tv. Question 1:Which cable actually gives or produce the best AUDIO output from my tv to the soundbar? Is it the HDMI or Optical cable?
Question 2:  Which cable can pump out the best video from Philip Media player to my Sony Tv? should I use the HDMI ARC or supposed just normal HDMI input for video connection? PLs advice. Cheers!

B5 is the natural successor to the 2013 Award-winning HTL9100

The Philips HTL5140 is no longer sold here but there's the HTL5160. Is this the direct successor to the HTL5140? I can't seem to find any reviews or much comment on this model from Google.

The specs said HDMI 1.4 as output (not HDMI 2.0). Would that be a con?

I have not heard of the YSP1600 but i am very satisfied with the sound of my QM4, the bass is very tight and this soundbar can get very loud without distortion and it even play music nicely (not all soundbar can do this)

Hi bros,
Really appreciate the active sharing in this community and hence finally decides on getting the YSP2500...only to realise its obselete and replace with the YSP 2700.

Went to sample it and was introduce to the Philips Fidelio B8, an Atmos bar. Im no expert in sounds but from personal opinion the B8 sounded more..."surround" than the 2700.

My concern is when i try to find review for the B8 online...there itsnt any while the 2700 gets really good review in a few sites. I would really appreciate it if any bros here can give some feedback on the B8

Please don't get "atmos" soundbars. The amount of money spent on it to get shitty sound quality in return is just downright... stupid. Sorry if it sounds offensive, but it is how it is. Don't jump down this rabbit hole, is all I will caution you from.

Upfiring speakers are bad enough as it is, but upfiring speakers from a soundbar is terrible. I mean, how big are those drivers in there? 2 inches?
And not to mention the complexity of having a totally flat, low (8ft) and reflective ceiling for upfiring speakers to work. How many people has that kind of room?

Get the YSP 2700 and have a good day if you aren't fussy about better sound quality.
