hey guys, need your inputs. My supplier is selling the Q60R @ MYR 1480. My usage is more or less watching movies and my wife watching cooking shows. Not much gaming on it as there will be another 4k TV in my gaming room. This is for the hall. Living in condo. Is the Q60R more than enough?

Hi, guys, currently i have Samsung NU8000 (2018) TV and thinking to upgrade my soundbar
Right now all console connect to Sony NT-HT5 and one HDMI from the Arc to NU8000

TV Model: Samsung NU8000
Soundbar: Sony NT-HT5
Console: Playstation 4 & Nintendo Switch

Question 1: As per you guys mention, the content/source must have Atmos in order to have Atmos output from soundbar, how do i know that my TV support atmos? FYI Netflix subscriber right now btw.
Add on: I will buy Playstation 5 next time which i not sure it support ATMOS or not.

Question 2: Which sound bar actually perform better? Right now i aiming for Q900T, Q800T and Q70T but kinda dilemma to go for which one.

From Harvey Norman right now:
Q900T - RM3,497
Q800T - RM2,797
Q70T - RM2,377

buy what ever pocket allowed. of course q900T, its with atmos without the rear effect speakers.

to check if your TV has atmos, check the specs. or the Box.

Or under netflix, you need to be 4K ultra package. if yes. browse thorough or search for atmos in search bar, a list of movies will appear. Choose Project power then when it shows a Atmos logo your TV is atmos compatible.

If not, then no.

BTW NU8000 is year 2018 model TV, most probably no atmos.

You don’t necessary need an Atmos TV to play Atmos content. If you want Netflix Atmos you can get Nvidia Shield TV or Apple TV 4K and connect to your Atmos soundbar.
If you have local media content with Atmos e.g MKV/M2TS files you can get any android box with Atmos and connect to your soundbar as well.
Similar with blu-ray player, connect direct to your soundbar. Don’t need Atmos TV for all the above.

Ok, but right now latest sound bar all only has max 2 hdmi port which one of it is ARC/eARC reserve for TV which means it left one, right ?

So meaning consoles all connect to TV and sound output from soundbar?

For Atmos experience, go for Apple TV 4K or maybe the upcoming Google Chrome Cast (if it has atmos)
TV native app obsolete, right ?

I have both non-4K Chromecast and 4K Fire Stick. IMO, the Fire Stick is more versatile so better. Price wise, both quite similar

well it seems no one wanna reply my inquiry, but its ok i read through the thread and went with the q95t = HW-Q950T/XM instead. since all saying the best.

I got mine at RM3850 pairing this with TU8500. I hope its fine enough

Depends which soundbar. My Q90R has 3 HDMI ports. My 4K blu ray and Nvidia Shield TV connected to soundbar, while my PS4 to TV.
PS4 games doesn’t have Atmos anyway.

T series mostly has 2 HDMI ports left

900T/950T has 2 HDMI in and 1 HDMI ARC/out. Similar to my Q90R...

Btw, Apple TV 4K is crap unless you mainly want to use Airplay. Nvidia TV Shield 2019 Pro is much better.

If you can find the Q80R or Q90R at much lower price than the newer 900/950T models then go for the R series. If not then the 900/950T at their current street price people are getting for is really good.

Thanks for the info but I don't think i will get current gen Apple TV 4k with A10 chip, might as well monitor for next gen see.

My NU8000 right now also has the Apple TV app built in.
My main right now are YouTube and Netflix also XD

The Q900T is at RM3,497

Someone bought the Q950T for RM3,800+ here. Might as well get that if you have space for 2 rear speakers.

ordered mine @ RM3850 for Q950t. But just checked, my hall where my sofa is being placed, dont have power ports. So for the rear speakers abit hard to install. might be going for the q900t instead since the only difference are the 2 rear speakers. But pricing wise, the q900t im getting from supplier is at RM3680

Might as well get the Q950T if the price difference is only RM170. You can keep the rear speakers for next time if you ever have the chance to use them. Or could even sell them for much more than the price difference since Q900T or Q80R owners who wants to buy the rear speakers are limited to another model without Atmos.

the 2 rear speakers makes alot difference i must say, get the Q950T 1st, if no use then keep for future use, since the price diff is little
