Many seems to recommend Mad Max as one of the best Atmos surround movie. I'm not a fan of the movie though, but just for the sound i might get it...
I found a workaround, but troublesome though and you won't be able to get the full 10%. Use shopee to buy bigpay top up using the coins cashback. Pay RM90 to get RM116 top up to your bigpay account then you can withdraw it to your own bank account.
You'll have to do it for 2 weeks though since maximum is 3000 coins per day & 15000 coins per week

Q800T is more like Q70R successor. Updated model for Q90R is Q950T. You can expect the newer models to be much more expensive than the current Q90R price though. Probably RM5-6k for the Q950T.
For the current price Q90R is still the best value Atmos soundbar.

I just bought Yamaha YAS 209 and happily set it up.

Linked to my C8 LG with the free hdmi cable (1.4a) and tested using youtube music. Set it to Movie (and also Music), 3D surround, clear voice bass ext both on and +3. Updated to latest firmware too.

TV sounds ok, not that great. Because now night time I cannot up the volume.

However when I play it via my phone, the mp3 in my phone.... I think connected via bluetooth or WIFI, the quality is very bad. It is worse than my logitech z625 laptop speakers. Sound is muffled and generally I think TV speakers better.

Tomorrow I will test streaming... youtube on TV those music videos also sound quality is bad.

A couple of questions:

1. Sound quality not as expected. I tested this in the showroom and it is much better. The right way to connect is via ARC or optical? I use ARC. If the best way to connect is ARC, then is the hdmi cable issue since it is 1.4a version. Will the sound be better if I change to a 2.1 or 2.0 hdmi cable?

2. Or is it I got a pair of lemon speakers? How do I test it. Basically I chose Yamaha because it is (apart from cheaper) supposed to be better in music, but I am very disappointed so far.

3. Or is it the speaker will sound better after I run it for a while?

Seriously if I know the quality is as such in my room, I wouldn't have paid over 1.4k for it. Appreciate any advice to set up this sound bar the right way. Thanks.

Do you use Yamaha HT Controller app to customize the sound? If not, please download from Google play store and do it.

Wow.. rm5-6k for a soundbar sounds extreme. For samsung  I think getting a Q90R is a good time now.

Yup I did. No equaliser just choose different modes, actually cannot tell big difference. Anyway I guess I have too high expectation to begin with. Let's see after some time if performance will improve or I get used to it. The review is correct, mid range sorely lacking and I am a treble person. Thought clear voice can compensate but I was wrong. Also streaming via Bluetooth sucks. Volume very low and quality not there, muffled. From TV direct is better. 3D surround gives echo, not too good if watching YouTube or live TV. But Netflix much better. Later I will blast the volume to test the effects vs z625 logitech and native lg tv to see difference.

So I bought some stands for my Q90R rear speakers from Lazada thinking of saving spending a load on the Vebos stands, but hell it is bloody hard to fit the cable through the pole.

Anyone interested in these? Willing to sell them at RM150, nearly 50% off the price I paid for them

I got in from a authorized seller in Penang. Not exactly, cable conceal behind the stand legs. But the back speaker power cables also very short.

The stand seems very slim with no opening/hole inside the leg for the cable to go through. Or do you mean the cable just hanging behind the leg (and cello tape or something to the leg) to prevent it from dangling?
