Oops I sold it LOL

Why did you sell it? Upgrade?

Was it good enough? Thinking of buying one as well. Been pondering weeks now lol

Btw, would the Q80R soundbar be overkill for my small bedroom?

Yup. Outside is usually RM4299 to RM3999. RM4600 consider a good deal. Just checking if anyone know any better.haha

Hunting for Q90R too.. saw the cheapest from shopee around 3.8k, last unit that's why i hesitated. Going to Harvey Norman next week audition the Q90R first before i pull the trigger. HN price is 4,199 with 2 years installment. Btw, i've been reading in avforums, samsung forums that there's distortion on the sub and soundbar due to the wifi signal (5ghz) interference.
Anyone user updated the firmware of the ARC to E-ARC? Heard it improves the sound overall. But your display has to be E-ARC compliance too. Happy to know so many Q90R supporters. biggrin.gif

Just bought the HW-Q70R for my dad for Fathers day/Be-lated Bday. Should be arriving today/tmr.
So far that looks like the most affordable-decent Atmos SB compared to others. I know there is the Sony HT-X9000F but wanted real upfiring speakers compared to some DSP effect for "ATMOS" effect.

Anyone owns the Q70R? Read that the soundstage width is poor although the height is not bad sweat.gif

Hi guys,

Just to update I've finally get the q90r at rm3.6k from a dealer in Penang.
The soundbar setup is as below
PC > (hdmi2) > q90r > (hdmi arc) > q60r TV

A few things to share.
1. Playing Netflix direct from TV manage to output Atmos (Atmos is shown in display). No extra settings needed.

2. However, I was unable to setup Atmos via Dolby Access as my pc somehow can't select Atmos in Sound > spatial settings. Still not yet solve it. Appreciate if any sifu here can help.

3. Both my phone (installed smart things) and q90r connect to same WiFi and manage to update the main unit without prob. Some extra steps needed to ensure woofer and rear get updated as well. There's no guide or notice given in the app to tell you about it.
To update them: Turn the soundbar on, and wait until there is any text on the display, then press and hold the DOWN button on the remote for about 6 seconds until the display shows UPDATE. The display on the soundbar will cycle UPDATE > BYE > ON. This takes about 5 minutes.

4. The reason I'm plugging in to hdmi2 is because I had lipsync issue when using hdmi1. I have yet to try again after updating. Will update you guys again if anyone interested to know more.

ya bro, i also had the same issue no 2.
end up i bought a hdmi converter to optical, and do not enjoy the dolby access....

Hi, I have some problem regarding HDR video streaming.
My TV is LG 50UM7600PTA connect to my Sony HT-X8500 soundbar via HDMI-ARC, and I connect my PC (GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960) to the soundbar HDMI-in so it's like PC > Soundbar > TV.
I can output to TV at 4k@60fps but I can't stream HDR video (Windows 10 stream HDR video is 'OFF' and can't be turned on); playing games with HDR is okay though. If I connect my PC direct to the TV then the HDR option becomes 'ON'.
All three devices (GPU, soundbar, TV) are capable of streaming 4K HDR so I wonder why Windows 10 doesn't recognize the soundbar being HDR-ready.

Upgraded already? I'm looking at Q80R, don't think i want more wires running around the back for rear speakers of the Q90R.
Managed to find a friend who was interested in my 207 as well lol, so if she really buys it in the end i'll jump on the Q80R.

Sold my 207.. bought Q90R. Not bad because I use it in my room. For those dolby vision / atmos effect, its very dependent on the media. I watch a few netflix movie with DV/DA but seems like the rear speaker only activated at certain times and the volume is very low. But documentary like F1 drive to survive (s2) really good. Can really feel the intensity when racing / crash. Other than that not much comment for a small setup / budgetary. biggrin.gif

Did you sell your 207 in lowyat garage sale forum? How much did you manage to sell it for?
You'll probably get more out of your soundbar through a proper blu-ray player + blu-ray discs. Netflix content are heavily compressed.

if you have Q90R soundbar + smart TV, your game console like PS4 connect which device?

PS4 -> Soundbar -> TV
or
PS4 -> TV -> Soundbar

What's the diff between these 2?

thinking of buying soundbar.

my budget max around 3k.

is q80r the best choice within that budget?

or should just save money and buy q70r?

Q80R - 2.7k (10% cash back in shopee coins) vs Q70R - 2k.
I'd say Q80R is worth the extra 700 just for their side speakers. I'm also still undecided on the Q80R & Q90R sweat.gif

What's the current 7 7 best deal for q90r? I can only find lazada 3.69k.

What about LG sl10y? Looks like they clearing stock since new batch selling from 15th July according to sales guy.

How does LG sl10y holding? Meridian technology used to the leader many years back. So far review very limited and seems paid to me. Anyone got the speaker and can comment? I use it for Netflix, YouTube and music.
