Please don't mind the vertical video, it's only 10 secs but if you look closely, you can find a lot of noise generated upon capture to the point that it's rather unacceptable. This video was captured using the built-in camera app. Is my camera lens defective?

Here's the video below:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Edit: I have re-uploaded to make it landscape. Please dial to 720p and watch full screen to see the generated noise.

Also, my unit actually came with a chipped glass. It's not too obvious, it wasn't, until my gf played with it and found out  doh.gif

Now trying to contact storekini to see if they can do something about it.

yeah....if capture video indoor definitely will see the noise. i guess they only focus on the photo capture

Yea, that's very weird indeed. Even in normal camera mode (when previewing), I can see a lot of noise, but luckily, the picture produced is still clear

1520 pixel size is similar to 1020 but lower than most top end smartphones out there at a sad 1.12 micron meter. Even crappy Z Ultra camera has bigger pixels. 1020 is better in both still and video though has similar pixel size as 1520 is because of the bigger 41MP down sampling. Hence, low light (and even medium light) 1520 will exhibits ton of noise.

yes but it's worth it. I applied transparent casing on it and now it still attracts attention.

Was unsuccessful trying to connect my phone with my Viao Pro ( windows 8.1), desktop PC ( winxp) , iMac n MBA ( Mac osx) using my oftenly used 3 usb cables ( htc, blackberry n samsung). All ocaasions it shows non detection of phone. Finally took out the supplied Nokia cable n Viola the phone was successfully detected.

I got the solution from Nokia forum as apparently several users in same scenario as me and was advised to use only the Nokia cable
