anyone who are weak and lack self-control, DO NOT go and test out 1520 screen. I repeat DO NOT step into a Nokia Store if you donwan to have less RM1999 in your bank account.

For me, 3 main apps that are still not available or not ugly as win98 programs are:

1. FTP
2. IDE editor
3. Offline Bible/ESV Study Bible

It's actually not big for me (I got Xperia ZU), 6" is just ngam ngam for the maximum size phone for me, ZU's 6.3" is tad too unwieldy. One thing I noticed though, the camera is not drastically faster than 1020 despite the faster processor (feels almost the same), but the WP UI is so fast that it feels like 120fps when scrolling!

1520 is for the very first time a Nokia phone that checks all the boxes of my requirements..

i don't mind it sandboxed in the app storage like in iOS's Textastic. Crazy beautiful free Android apps like Turbo Client make it really hard for other phones like 1520 to pry my current Nexus 5 from my hands as my primary phone...Oh well

first impression is it is not crazy unwieldy big like XU but a thinner bigger version of 1020. Like the curved edges on all sides compared to 1020. And then I turn on the screen - THE SCREEN

Now surfing Lowyat like a lousai in Desktop mode, no more puny Mobile version

got it cheaper than rm1999 as I don't need or want any of the freebies, want lowest price possible.

same nokia camera with all the features plus ROAR! file support..starting up camera maybe miliseconds faster only but saving hires after snap is faster. Theoretically the f2.4 should be tiny wee bit sharper than 1020 f2.2. Will test thoroughly this weekend!

btw, maybe the haptic feedback in 1020 is less strong, i baru notice WP cannot disable haptic feedback correct??? Tad too strong in 1520 me think.

oh ya, instagram sure looks glorious in 1520, finally can see my friends photo more detailly and scrolling in the app as well as facebook and twitter are smoother than 1020.

Few new observations after 3 days use and comparing to 1020:

1. Yellow tint and saturation is less with Nokia Black. But in few instances, the same yellow tint still appear unpredictably. White balance more towards the Auto cool side (matching real white despite lighting conditions) rather than the slant towards actual lighting color like warm light with bulb in 1020.

2. Whatever new daylight pixel level backlighting Nokia brag about in 1520, it doesn't works well in real outdoor lighting. The screen turn into over contrasted bright bands to show detail on screen. Colors just off and weird, hard to explain this inconsistency, you need to test it with 1520 in bright sunlight. Maybe sunlight in Finland is very different than Malaysia haha.

3. After extensive camera use, the startup speed is actually noticeable faster than 1020 when I go back and use 1020. Not much different but noticeable, not aware when first day use.

4. Daylight and good lighting camera performance is comparable to 1020 with less details but low light performance and high ISO cannot touch 1020, not even close, muddy like all those other smart phones out there. Probably due to the big sensor size difference.

5. Its hotter than 1020 in similar usage condition with a wider areas of heat at the back. Especially using GPS, the top left corner is uncomfortably hotter and it drain battery faster than my car can charge LOL. But overall it does lasts half day longer for me in same usage pattern due to the bigger capacity.

6. The best and smarter way to do ClearBlack is still AMOLED

I actually never have any over heating or battery drain issues with my 1020.

Goto Settings > Sounds > Wait for next year Windows Phone 8.1 update > turn off haptic feedback (hopefully)

For those on tight budget and have no need for the headphone, I advise buying from Directd or Satugadget at rm1839, they are original local avaxx set, anything wrong can go to Nokia Service Centre. And if you really need the headphone, just get from Nokia shop to add on, still cheaper than rm1999. You don't save RM300 by buying something you don't need, you spent RM300.

1520 pixel size is similar to 1020 but lower than most top end smartphones out there at a sad 1.12 micron meter. Even crappy Z Ultra camera has bigger pixels. 1020 is better in both still and video though has similar pixel size as 1520 is because of the bigger 41MP down sampling. Hence, low light (and even medium light) 1520 will exhibits ton of noise.

As explained in my previous post, 1520 has very small 1.1 µm pixel size compared to 920's 1.4 µm. The noise will be worst as 20mp super sampling is not enough to mitigate the overly cramped sensor compared to 1020 bigger sensor. So, any top most smart phones will have better ISO performance than 1520. Pictures below show the test I did with 1020, 1520 and Nexus 5 for high shutter speed/high ISO water freezing test

1520 is OK and fine for day shots, just the lowlight and high ISO shots tak boleh pakai because of cramped pixels.

HTC one got the biggest pixel in the market today at 2μm, hence the good lowlight video performance, only lose out for still details as it is only 4MP. I think the 1520 issue is more hardware limitation than software. The only software 'fix' we as owner can do is to manually lower shutter speed for lowlight shots, hence lowering the ISO a bit. But this works for static objects only as moving objects will be blurred.
